My mom needed repair to a vintage framed poster that was damaged(shattered glass, broken frame, and a surface scratch to the artwork). The staff at Lawrence Art and Frame made the repair, installed plexiglass(at our request), and touched up the poster. Looks as good as new! Shortly following that repair we brought in an old portrait of my husband from his Navy days that had been in the attic. It acquired a few dings and scratches in storage. Peter touched up the work and applied a coat of lacquer, giving much new life to the work. We are thoroughly pleased with both of these projects. BTW, turnaround on both projects was faster than estimated.

I am surprised to be the first Unilocaler to review this place, since it’s been around so long, but here goes: If you’re looking to frame something special, this is a good place to check out. Unlike the typical«mall» framing/poster stores, that hire minimum wage kids, this small shop is staffed by very experienced art people, like their owner Peter Van Ellis, who’s been doing museum quality framing for over 20 years. They have a wide selection of frames and mats, and recently for me built a custom frame for a special piece of art. They also can supply museum quality glass — and will show you the difference in clarity between that and a lower grade of glass. The shop is located a block off of Route 1 South(Texas Ave) just before Lawrence Shopping Center. They have off street parking. This is an independent review. I have no relationship to this store, nor to the best of my knowledge, know anyone who works there.
