The Singin’ Bean

I stopped by after a day at the gun range a block down the street. This coffee shop is SO cute! It’s almost as if you’re walking into someone’s home, and you are treated like family as soon as you enter. There were so many different coffees and add-​ins to choose from, as well as baked goods and other pastries. We opted to sit over in the living room-​esque area, rather than the wooden tables. There were old games, books, and interesting décor that REALLY made you feel as if you visited a friend’s house rather than being inside a coffee shop. We need more places like this!
Sad to see that they sold the place recently. :(

Nice cozy café that has karaōke 3 nights a week. Stopped by recently with my karaōke buddy after some hard core wedding dress shopping. We’d already eaten so we had to really search the menu for something to meet the $ 3 per person minimum. I had a brownie and a cup of decaf. Both were really good. The brownie was 4 times the size I cut them at home and the coffee was hot and flavorful. Looked like they have the full coffee set up which is good for the ‘in-​the-​know’ coffee drinkers. I just like a cuppa now and then.
They offer karaōke on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. I think on Friday there’s a kid version from 6 – 8. There were some kids the night I went and it wasn’t bad at all. The kids sounded decent and didn’t run around wild so I have no problem sharing my evening with them. The music selection was good and the crowd was supportive.
Here is why I can’t give 5 stars:
There is only one bathroom and its unisex. Personal preference, I know.
While I like the cozyness of this place, it was hard to sit comfortably because my chair was in the middle of a functional door way and I felt in the way all night. This means the ‘good’ seats go fast so get there early.
Even though its WAY out of my neighborhood (Memorial Dr) I will be back.
