The owner and her employees are also the store’s most prolific artists, and are on hand to help you fire up your creative spark. Once the first idea is in place the next one will come, and you will likely find yourself back in the studio ready to create your next masterpiece.
Painted enough pottery? They also carry glass fusion supplies, and will happily walk you through the process. Still want more? How about a painting class? Give them three hours and they will walk you step by step through a simple canvas. Even better, grab a group of friends and pick your painting and time. Bring your own snacks and have a party!
The space is open and filled with light. Plenty of tables and chairs mean that you can choose to sit with people or off on your own if you need to concentrate. The regular customers here are willing to jump in to help you make decisions, and there are always tips on local events and places.
One of the best things about APOYI is the community involvement. Art camps for kids on school break, fundraisers for local charities, and the desire to help new customers make a local connection mean so much to an area with a transitory population. I’m glad that I’ve found a bright spot of color in the center of Lawton.

What a fun night! I was taken here for a surprise night because I like to paint. You go in pick a piece of pottery, paints and different techniques they offer and just paint your imagination on your pottery piece!.. within a week you get your piece back! Looks like they have glass beads also, someone was making a wind charm when we were there and I didn’t look into it but they mentioned they have pottery class one day of the month to make your own piece! This would be fun for birthday parties and date nights!
