The food was incredible and the chef was very fun and entertaining. I had to give it four stars just because the waiting staff was a little under par. A lot of times when people go to a Hibachi, they’ve never been and don’t know how to order, so it would be nice if they were a little more helpful. If it wouldn’t have been for the big«Valentine’s Day Special» sign in front of us, I’m not sure they would’ve made it. I will still be back for sure!

Food was good, but service was horrible. Never cleared a single plate off the table and there is 3 of us eating. One of the waitresses was talking with another friend in the middle of the dinning room and was swearing and being very loud, I have a 2 year old so I was kind of pissed. Will only do take out here from now on.

the worst service. Poor food quality and overpriced. I went with two friends and the server forgot who ordered which. While we eat food she never came to check on us. Their plates and silverwares are not sanitary. I could smell bad scent from soup spoon, too.

Great sushi but the fried rice is awful and the put all this mayonnaise sauce on it which is utterly disgusting.

One of the nicer places in Lawton, Oklahoma when it comes to sushi/hibachi. They have good combo deals on sushi and of course their hibachi is really filling. They also have different types of Sake to include Nigori. Fun for the family and nice staff. It’s my go to for Japanese in Lawton.

Awesome place. The teriyaki is amazing and I had the«monster 99 roll» and it was incredible. I would say this is the best sushi place in Lawton, OK.

There is an illusion of many sushi roll choices; however, most are just variations of imitation crab rolls. I ordered one of the scallop rolls and literally dug through the crab to find my four pieces of scallop. The staff are all nice and attentive. A pro is they have a wine selection. The building is clean and well decorated giving a nice atmosphere(but sometimes smells a little too much like cleaning solution) Disclaimer: I have not tried the hibachi section. So, long story short: eat here for good Americanized crab rolls and a nice bar selection.

First impressions matter, especially when one is making a splashy entrance. Unfortunately for Kimono Steak and Sushi Grill, their first impression with the local foodie community was a bumpy one. Construction delays prevented them from opening on their announced date, and they were so busy fixing the issues that they forgot to mention it on any social media outlets. Oops! Not a surprise then that they opened their doors quietly, allowing word of mouth to spread. I was able to visit on their second day open, and almost every seat was empty, but I know that will change soon. Honestly, the empty space is good for now, as there were still a few workers on ladders this afternoon. The space is large, and well spaced. Eight grills fill the center of the room, with each two-grill space seating 18 customers at a time. Not overly crowded, and only two people have a far view of the grill. Other seating includes 6 tables for 4, and a row of seats at the sushi bar. There are also seats at a separate bar, which has place settings, but might be an actual bar once the paperwork is filed. Today I had the chicken katsu bento box. Standard stuff, and done well enough. Chicken soup, two gyoza, salad, half California roll, rice, and protein. I did not specify steamed rice, and now know that fried rice is the default. They were kind enough to bring me a side of their spicy sauce(sriracha) to use with my chicken. All of the food was well done. It was good to have chicken soup as a starter, the salad was not drenched in sauce, and the roll was messy, but with a good balance of ingredients. The rice was a bit too fried for my taste, but had good flavor. I’ll just be sure to specify steamed next time. It has been 9 long months since I had my last piece of chicken katsu, so I probably should not be trusted to review. It was a generous piece, juicy and not greasy. Now I just have to convince them to serve it with curry on the side! As I finished I had a chance to quickly meet the owner and welcome him as a new restaurant in the area. He seemed very open, so I did suggest curry(and ahi poke!) as a menu addition. I look forward to returning with friends to try the hibachi offerings. My only true criticism for this restaurant is price. This is the third sushi/hibachi restaurant in Lawton, and the most expensive by far. Each visit has cost me nearly twice what a similar meal would cost me across town, without being double the quality. This will be an issue in a modest town like Lawton, and I hope that Kimono I can convince people that it is the«upscale» hibachi in town.

Disappointing. Seems generally very over priced. The quality is just not there. This is the first time I have ever left sushi on a plate. It was not good. We ordered the spicy yellowtail roll and ate one piece each. The fish was not cold, it was tough and chewy(with what seemed like gristle in it). Actually, it did cross my mind we may get sick. Not very good for a sushi restaurant. There are some other much more palatable choices in town. My advice, go there.
