We were so pleasantly surprised by this place! Stopped in Lawton on the way to Texas and this was one of the few places that had a vegetarian option for us non-meat eaters while still offering good ol’ meaty burgers for our carnivore friends. The skinny(the veggie patty) was one of the best veggie burgers I’ve had! It says on the menu it only comes in slider size(3oz), but our server promptly let us know we could get a full-sized one. Super good! My Bloody Mary(The Rooster, I believe, thanks to the gratuitous amount of Sriracha) was phe-freakin-nominal! Super spicy and limey and topped with oodles of pickled goodies. The fries were decent(boyfriend got the spicy smothered fries and loved them), but I have to say the milkshake stole my heart. A table near us got the S’more shake which had graham cracker crumbs, a chunk of Hershey’s chocolate and TWO fire-roasted marshmallows. The smell of the mallows roasting was all the convincing I needed, and although I was about to explode from fullness, I absolutely do not regret my decision to finish my meal with that tasty goodness. On top of this, the staff was laid back and fun. Our service was fantastic and the wait for the food was not bad at all. Not to mention the amazing 80s and 90s music videos and music playing all over the little restaurant, which enticed our whole table and server to quietly sing and dance along. That’s my kind of place. If you’re in the area, just go here. The meat eaters loved their meat burgers. The vegetarians loved their non meat burgers. Everyone was happy we chose S&B’s Burger Joint.

Okay. So I came to this place during lunch time. It was not packed when we first arrived. However, as soon as we got to the door one of the chefs opened the entrance store and spat. Literally inches from us. Not a good start. But whatever maybe this dude has a spitting problem. We got seated quickly and had our drinks before we could open our menu(I know, amazing right!) the waitress was so nice and attentive and even gave some of her personal recommendations. We went with the cheeseburger special they had that day and the build your own burger with a side of chili fries and thanksgiving fries. The burgers were okay. That’s it, okay. The meat was dry but it was covered in all the condiments and toppings. The thanksgiving fries were so delish, but oh so sweet. The chili cheese fries were on point. But that’s it. The atmosphere is nostalgic and wonderful for 90s Rock fans. I loved the atmosphere. I don’t know if I would ever come here again. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad either. It was just, okay.

Mother of God! Why didn’t I bother to visit this place sooner?! I mean, I drive by it every other day(as they are just up the street from Jimmy’s Egg). It’s only a shame I will be leaving Lawton in a week, if ONLY for this place alone! They easily make the best burgers Lawton has to offer. Which, considering this town, is saying a lot! First, the decorum: I love it! It reminded me of an 80s diner. Maybe it was just the choice of music videos playing on the 40 something inch flat screens at the time but… let’s just say I instantly felt nostalgically at home. Second, I was served by one of the most energetic, inspired, informative and CUTE waitresses ever! Seriously, if you ever decide to dine in at this place, just ask for the server named«Latashi». You will be well taken care of! She was attentive, prompt, empathetic as all hell AND… knew the menu inside and out. Honestly, I must have been sitting there for a good five minutes as she described the menu to me in great detail. I recall thinking, «damn…enough already!». But it wasn’t even a big deal because she was SO sweet! It’s a trait rarely seen exhibited in servers anymo
