On my way home to Dingmans Ferry from busy week from NYC, I often stop by for delicious take out. I have eaten so many Greek food in Astoria, NY. This gem does wonders and brings opa to their food. You won’t be disappointed and you do not need windex to fix it.

For twenty years I’ve been dreaming about finding a culinary gem in the rough out here in Sussex county. It’s hard to find good food here, let alone great food. But a couple weeks ago, I visited this place for the first time. The exterior and interior are completely bland and mediocre… But the food is phenomenal. Every dish was excellent. We had grape leaves, a lamb gyro, and some grilled, skewers of pork. All great. Best restaurant for 50 miles in any direction.

I will be short and sweet. The Layton Country Store Café has the best Greek food this side of Manhattan and Astoria. It’s way out of the way, but if you happen to be in northwest New Jersey, do not miss it.

Juicy burgers and greek specialties. This quaint café is a favorite and a must stop that takes you back in time. Hand cut fries, huge delicious greek dishes, and a chill, small town atmosphere will put a smile on your face.

As of today, all reviews are 5 stars… and I just made it eight reviews. Not what you’d expect. Off the grid and«goofy»… But. Music. 50’s rock music played when we were there Clean: Much better than average… clean bathroom Food: Big menu I was torn between choices for greek salad or gyro. Solution: Order the GyroPlatter $ 10.95 Combines both plus adds special f fries.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. I wish I lived next door and could eat here every day. Alas we were just visiting in Bushkill Falls for the weekend! Hands down best Greek food I’ve ever had. Classic, from scratch Greek dishes on the menu interspersed with innovative country inspired comfort food and some really appealing and interesting healthier options. Very creative and warm chef who was happy to talk about her menu. The setting is idyllic and was perfect day to relax on the lovely porch with my husband, enjoy the scenery and a truly superb meal! He loved his lamb quesadillas and I was blown away by the salad I had which was one of the prettiest and most flavorful meals I’ve had. Perfectly grilled and seasoned chicken over mixed greens, warm figs and cinnamon apples, Greek cheese, walnuts, cranberries… heavenly. We enjoyed a gorgeous hike in the Delaware Water Gap afterwards and worked our chickpea fritters and cheesecake off. They were both to die for… can’t wait to go back in the fall and try a warm, hearty helping of made from scratch Moussaka!

This is the best gyro in Sussex County. Yes, it’s off the beaten path, but I will travel for good food! The Greek food here is authentic. The Spanakopita(spinach pie) is made fresh daily and is delicious. Today I had the Gyro Quesadilla. It is two tortillas filled to the brim with gryo meat, cheese, peppers & onions. This is then grilled to perfection! So good! They also have authentic Baklava! The owners mom lovingly known as Yia-yia(grandma)makes it from scratch in the back of the store. It is the perfect blend of honey, walnuts and filo dough. Just like homemade. This is a great rustic place that has great prices and is a great food choice. If you are in the area, or feel like taking a scenic drive, stop here. You will be glad you did.

A gem in the woods. We stumbled upon this place by luck. Friendly people, great food that really reminded us of the flavors of Greece. Tried the grape vine leaves, roasted eggplant and souvlaki platter; former two were terrific and latter also very good. Always a pleasure to find a place that knows to appreciate good fresh veggies and honest olive oil. BYO, liqueur store across the street. Awesome Greek music in background. We will be back! Yasu

The gyro quesadilla and eggplant sandwich were amazing. Sit on the porch if it’s warm outside.

Fantastic food at great prices. Even though you’re served large portions, you won’t leave with a doggie bag because you will eat everything on your plate. The food is that good!!!

I’ve been here twice — once for lunch, once for dinner — both visits were great… The homemade falafel was made-to-order and freshly fried. The Greek omlette was fluffy and packed with fresh veggies… Good stuff. The chef is a stand-out — she seems to run the kitchen single-handedly and pops into the dining room to chat with customers and suggest dishes… — Nice combination of country kitch, by-the-book execution and eclectic flavors. will def. go back.
