I’ve been to Mongolian grill quite a few times in other locations, each time enjoying my visit. My first time going to this location I wasn’t a huge fan with how the dish came out. I like to use teriyaki sauce and when I used it here the flavor didn’t come across in my dish. My husband really enjoyed his dish so I wanted to try it out again. This time I added more and also added some in during the cooking process. Still the flavor wasn’t there. I believe it is because the teriyaki sauce at this location is a bit more runny then I’ve seen in other places. It may be more soy based. Either way, two times I’ve tried the create your own bowl and wasn’t satisfied. I give it a three star rating because the cook was very helpful, the restaurant was clean, and my husband enjoyed his food. This place is a coin toss in my eyes.

This is my favorite Mongolian BBQ because they offer a lot more than what you can get at a Chinese restaurant with a Mongolian BBQ inside. What I really appreciate is that your bbq comes with choice of soup and an egg roll. The guys working the bbq are also pretty fun to watch and will try to entertain. Try not to use a ton of noodles in your bbq. It’s tempting but really just a filler. Fill up on the meats and veggies!

Food is really good. You can create awesome flavors with the oils and other flavors. Only down side is, the customer service is consistently really bad. They don’t speak English well and prices change alot. Sometimes they don’t always give you the soup and rice that come with the buffet.

Ewww! I was recently introduced to Mongolian BBQ at HoHut in Sandy. It was delicious and now I crave it but Sandy is far so we decided to try this place. I was deeply disappointed. They don’t have a good selection of noodles at all — spagetti and angel hair is all they offer. I love the Pad Thai noodles! The selection of meat and veggies is good enough. Instead of peas they have peas and carrots which I didn’t care for. I LOVE peas but they only have peas and carrots, they also have thin sliced carrots also so I don’t understand why they couldn’t just have peas without more carrots mixed in. The sauces were just awful tho. The House Sauce tasted like it was just Soy Sauce, which I hate. They also had Teriyaki and a BBQ sauce neither of which I like very much. I used their Kung Pao sauce which was ok but not hot at all. What I really wanted, what I crave from HuHot is the Peanut Sauce. This place had nothing to compare. I couldn’t eat most of my first plate because I tried the noodles and they were awful. I went back and mostly got veggies which was much better. I ate them with some of the brown rice they brought to the table which was good. The egg rolls had a weird taste so I didn’t love those either. All around a very disappointing meal. We won’t be going back. I guess I’ll be making more trips to Sandy for HuHot.

The food was decent. They really do no cooking. It’s all variety and freshness of the meats and veggies we choose. Everything seems clean and well organized. The man grilling the food was very nice as was the woman taking our order. The egg drop soup and the hot and sour were not that good. — tasted like the came out of a bucket. A Togo container would be nice too. Will I be back? Well.. . I won’t make a special trip.

I have only been here once, and only ever been to a Mongolian BBQ restaurant once before that; but my experience at Mongolian Grill was very enjoyable. The price is fantastic for how much food you get(literally all you can eat). The food itself was tasty and they had a decent selection available. The service was perfectly acceptable for a cheap buffet. I will definitely be returning here again.

Pleasantly surprised by how flavorful the buffet was. Most buffets are not. Get the thinner noodles they fill you up less so you can shovel it in more. They have a Miriad of sauces. I particularly liked the squid and shrimp with the garlic and in-house sauce. 10 dollar dinner buffet, 8.25 for lunch. They also offer single dishes. No dessert. Really cool grilling chef show. Bring a dollar or two for that mans tip jar. Overall it was a great experience would come for lunch again. Apparently the woman’s bathroom is filthy.

Horrible service! Waited almost 15 minutes for the waitress to come take our order. We just missed the lunch hour by ten minutes so we decided to order off the menu. She didn’t bother to come back and take our order, instead she filled up a bowl of food for herself. I will never come back or recommend this place.

I’m not sure if it was that we arrived an hour before they closed or if they are always in a hurry, but in either case, the taste of burned food in every bite is not something I look forward to in my Mongolian food. It’s not appetizing when you are waiting for your food to be cooked and seeing that not only my food but every plate on the grill is being burned. Not being a cook myself I can tell when food is burning. After the cook was done he literally ran out the door. We did not come minutes before closing so there is no excuse why he should’ve been in a rush cooking our food. Avoid this place if you enjoy the taste of food and not the delicious taste of burned food. Egg rolls were good though.

We have been to this place at least 10 times and I will have to say I will not be going back. We had the worst service and it seems like they were really bothered to even Seat us. There were plenty of places to sit here but they put us at a table with a husband and wife and a baby that was grand most of the time and there was no separation between us. We ask for refills on her drinks five times and never got them. The soup was cold. this could’ve been a good place but the customer service is severely lacking

One of the most amazing places to eat in Layton. Getting the buffet is my go to. They cook right on the spot, from fresh frozen ingredients. Takes all of 1 – 2 minutes max. Good is beyond divine as well. I always get 1 bowl of chicken and beef, and one bowl of noodles, with peas and corn, all topped off by teriyaki sauce! Highly recommend!

Reminds me of Fire & Ice in Boston. You pick your meats, veggies, noodles, and such and bring the bowl to the«chefs» to cook your food for you. Really simple process. Service was okay. All you can eat, but only took me two or three bowls to be full.

You grab a bowl, throw some meat in there, add the veggies, and then add the sauces. Give it to the guy to cook and you get to taste what you came up with. You choose the wrong combos and you suffer with what you chose. If you got the right combo, you enjoy a meal. Is it worth the risk? That is the beauty of a Mongolian grill. I came here for lunch with some co workers and I thought it was ok. I’m not a big fan of trying to figure out which sauces go best with each other. To master it I’d probably have to come here 50 times until I got the right combos. It is all you can eat but usually after one round that is all I can eat. I doubt I will come here again because I pay to eat at places that have already figured out how to cook dishes and know the best flavors to combine. Good experience though. One other thing is the meat is sliced thin so when it cooks it shrinks so my recommendation is if you want a fair amount of meat you should load up on it while it is raw.

So decided to try this place after work as I love me a good Mongolian BBQ and this place hit the spot perfectly! There were several things that impressed me. 1. All you can ready buffet, where like a typically Mongolian BBQ you pick your meats, toppings and veggies only is all you can eat! Did I mention that this is an ALLYOUCANEATMONGOLIANBBQGRILL? Never have I seen this before and for the price it can’t be beat! 9.95 for all you can eat is not a bad price at all considering places well known like fire & ice in Boston charge more for one go at it. 2. Staff was friendly, but not above average. 3. The place was clean during my visit. 4. The food tasted GREAT! One of the better tasting grills I’ve been to. This place would have received 5 stars from me, but a few things kept it from getting that prefect rating. 1. They accept all major credit cards EXCEPT American Express, which those of you who travel on your company’s dime and carry an Amex to cover expenses, be warned! 2. Their Staff wasn’t overly friendly just average, plus were slow on drink refills. 3. Place is definitely dated. While clean, it could use a face lift inside. Over all I’d go back and will if back in this area again.

This isn’t my favorite Mongolian grill, but it’s up there for sure. It’s conveniently located and beats driving to Ogden(for me) for other Mongolian options. At first, they had more focus on the menu, but now it’s mostly about the all you can eat. Which is really fine by me considering it’s their best offering. They have a variety of meat and vegetables, some seafood, and great sauces. The only problem I run into is the table service. I understand you can’t expect full table service at a place like this, but it seems like that’s kind of what they want to do. Except I’ve always had to wait a long while, even when it isn’t busy, for simple things like chopsticks and water. This really is a great place though. The food is quality and it’s never boring to watch the cook do his thing. Do him a favor and leave him a tip!

During my last few visits, I noticed they started cutting back on what they are offering, and their price went up as well. Service reached a low… Aside from neglecting the tables, they will randomly shoving drinks on your table that you did not order, then attempt to charge you for it. For the ingredients, it seems like certain day of the week, they will replace string beans with more cabbage, most likely due to cost difference. The sauce area can be a battlefield after a long line, and sometime they even misplaced the labels. Be aware of an inexperience chef at the grill, sometime he does not cook everything all the way through leaving rawness in the meat or potential chance of food poisoning, or sometime he just burnt half of my stuff on the grill. All and all, they still cook everything through most of the time. Everything else seems to be the same. The servers will give you the same hostile poker face, almost like everyone that walks through the door owe them something. I guess there are no better alternatives in the area, which mean we will just have to put up with them even though we are paying customers.
