The chicken dumplings at this cracker barrel were noticeably more dope than at other locations.

Went there for my first time and loved the food! I got sausage biscuits & gravy, pancakes & hash browns for only $ 12. My friend got the meatloaf, smothered hash browns, macaroni, biscuits & lemonade for the same price!

This review is ONLYSTRICTLY for the pecan roll and the country store. That pecan roll was dang delicious. So fresh and sweet. Also, the staff in the country store has been very nice and friendly. Of all the times, I’ve visited just to walk around and browse the antique candies and such, I’ve never received attitude, anger, rudeness, or suspicious looks. Although this is a country southern store and restaurant, there’s no racism or anything of that such. I’m glad that doesn’t happen, however it does happen sometimes for me. Anywho, I absolutely adore that pecan roll, I’m so happy it wasn’t stale like the one I got from Food Town which was old, hard, and inedible, but thankfully not here. Y’all keep producing them sweet pecan rolls and smiling faces. Oh, and I even like how they sell all the jelly bean flavors, but most importantly my favorite popcorn flavor. Well, aside from the pecan roll. The food is dang delicious seasoned to perfection and truly a country southern cooking restaurant: BISCUITS: so buttery, hot and warm, melts in your mouth, yummy, to perfection. They taste like biscuits, I’ve had before in my childhood. FRIEDFISH: fried in cornmeal, not flour, thank goodness these southerners know the best method when cooking them, definitely brought out all the possible flavors. STEAKFRIES: no frost bitten, only but delicious thick fries, not seasoned with an excess amount of MSG salt, yay! HUSHPUPPIES: average Abe tasting puppies, the ones here is a lot smaller compared to other places, but good, but didn’t amount to the flavors of the biscuits. BUTTERMILKFRIEDCHICKEN: dang good, delicious, finger-licking good, literally. GREENBEANS: cooked with TLC, yummy, seasoned to perfection. OURWAITER: Paul. He was nice, attentive, friendly, though didn’t have a southern drawl, he was still very on top of game. He earned his tip and didn’t forget about us. Our experience at Cracker Barrel has been surprisingly good and I will be back for more. Best time to come is after lunch rush, literally hardly anybody in here. Guess what else, no old musty moldy smell! With all the antique items here, the restaurant smells fresh. They fooled me!

It’s like any other Cracker Barrel you’ll go to, so it’s just another ordinary chain restaurant serving breakfast and other southern comfort foods. We have been here multiple times as a stop on our trips to Galveston. It’s usually crowded here by mid-morning, so expect a wait. There is a little store connected to it, so there is more to see than just a restaurant. Service is always good and the waitstaff has always been great. However, last time the hostess was very rude and was arguing with her co-workers right in front of us. Despite that, the service has been good and the food always comes out quite fast. There’s certainly better breakfast restaurants out there, but it’ll do for something quick and cheap. Prices are decent. Overall, it’s your typical chain restaurant with a southern twist and a good place to eat.

Coffee tasted like water. We stopped for pie late tonight and when the server brought it out he tells us that they ran out of ice cream. How on earth does a restaurant run out of food? Your in the food business and you run out of food? The pie was good but it’s disappointing when you want the whole thing. Server had to be reminded to bring refill.

If you want to have a good breakfast and be able to enjoy it, don’t come during their peak hours! I came on a weekday in the morning and I received great service. Our server brought out warm biscuits w gravy, at our request, and they were delicious! I ordered a steak w my meal, medium rare is always the best way to go! however, next time I’ll share a plate w someone since it’s so much food I couldn’t finish my plate lol

Decided to do take out turkey day. Wonderful! Nice setup for such a busy day. The lunch deal here was WAY better than what Lubys offered for the price. Hubby and I ate on it for three days, and I only had to wash two plates!

Came here with my husband’s family once and it was pretty good. The server was really sweet and took great care of all 8 of us. Nicely priced as well, all of us ate for less than $ 10 apiece!

We came here on a Thursday around lunchtime and didn’t have to wait which was nice. Our waitress was less than ecstatic to see us. Okay, I ordered sweet tea and got regular. To eat, I got the mommas French toast breakfast with turkey sausage and scrambled eggs with cheese. I asked for blueberries as a fruit topping and didn’t receive them. The French toast was perfect but the turkey sausage seemed a little dry, still tasty. I was enjoying the cheesy scrambled eggs until a noticed a black hair on my eggs! None of us has black hair, I sent the eggs back and got fresh ones quickly. I’m hoping the cooks wear hair nets?

To me, Cracker Barrel is just another greasy spoon. I have only eaten breakfast here and don’t to that very often. I do like their coffee. Their other breakfast items are average but then again, how many ways can you scramble eggs? I’m not a fan of grits and it seems that EVERY breakfast they have includes them. On a side note, if you have an older relative that loves The Gaithers, you could do all your Christmas shopping here. If you found this review useful, cool, or funny, please let me know. Thanks for reading.

Always on point at Cracker Barrel. Went for a early Sunday morning cruise and wound up here. The food is solid. My grilled pork chops were a little dry. Everything else was really good.

Home country eating at a decent price. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. During the winter they have a burn fireplace that helps with the atosphmire.

We came in around one in the afternoon and we were seated right away. The place was a little on the noisy side but the service was great. Our waiter was very attentive and quick. The food was just okay but it came out really quickly like fast-food quickly I was really surprised. Would definitely come again.

Oh man this place NEVER disappoints! My husband and I usually get the country boy breakfast with sirloin steak(medium rare) three eggs, fried apples, hashbrown casserole, grits, and biscuits and gravy all for 10 $ now that is a great deal! Staff always pleasant!

Ok so I normally don’t like to review large chains like this because if you’ve had one you have had them all. But i have to give this location a shout-out. My husband and I went to eat there last night and I ordered the meatloaf and about 10 minutes later my waiter came and told me the meatloaf wouldn’t be ready for another 15 minutes, so I went ahead and ordered something else. After I got my food the manager brought me out a piece of the fresh meatloaf they just cooked no charge. He didnt have to do that and I would have still ate there but its that kind of customer service that makes you go back again and again. Thank you Cracker Barrel League City, your doin it right!

Yummy southern food! The wait early on a weekend isn’t too bad. My wait time was about 20 minutes. My party and I browsed the gift shop while we waited. I like how there are tables with checkers to help pass time. The service was good even though it’s busy. Our waitress checked up on us periodically. All of our food was delicious. My favorite is the simple biscuit and gravy. They have a sausage gravy which adds the right amount of salt to the gravy. The biscuits are huge! The other got breakfast plates with hash browns, eggs, bacon. They were all cooked and seasoned well. Another popular dish is the chicken and dumplings. Yummy! Plenty of large pieces of chicken in the dish. You bring your check to the registers out front by the gift shop.

While some headed to church, we worshiped with some friends and a whole lot of strangers Sunday morning at the trademark lodge-like alter of good, old-fashion Southern food. DH got the Grandpa’s breakfast with a fantastic piece of chicken fried chicken and I got the multi-grain pancake breakfast. After sharing and splitting with our 1-year-old, we still have 2 pancakes and a sausage patty left over, mainly bc we gorged on the biscuits and jelly they brought out beforehand. It’s hard to pace yourself first thing in the morning after a long wait! We enjoyed the rocking chairs outside as there were too many things inside among which to lose your kids and for them to break.

Its old fashion breakfast eating, have to be honest better then IHOP, with the sunrise breakfast eggs grits sausage has browns, biscuits and country gravy placed on table, they looked nice and fluffy, overall good hardy breakfast at a reasonable cost, and pick up a few items in gift shop

Dined here for the first time on a Sunday morning… the place is p-a-c-k-e-d. We waited 35 minutes for a table for 5. There is a little store/souvenir when you first walk in, which I thought was unique and cute because it keeps you busy while waiting, but that room is SMALL. If you like being skin to skin with other people that are waiting to get seated, then yeah okay, go stand there. But they do have rocking chairs outside, which is good. Anyway, I’m gonna vouch for someone’s previous review and say that the dining area DOESFEELLIKEYOU’REEATINGWITH A HEARDOFCATTLE. Absolutely loud, and place is cramped. Maybe it’s just us that we’re not really a buddy-body type, but gosh I couldn’t hear even my own thoughts. It was uncomfortable. The service we got from Shelby(?) was good; could have been better, but good. Owing to the fact that it was a busy day, she didn’t really get around to refilling our coffees much. My mom and I had that Thor moment wherein Thor smashes a mug of on the floor, shouting, «ANOTHER!» Food was… meh. I got the Wholesome Apple Cider BBQ Chicken w/apple chutney, and boy was that serving small. I do like the fact that they list the calories, and getting two sides still got me full. I got seasonal veggies(a few sprigs of broccoli, one puff of cauliflower) and the Tomato-Cucumber-Onion salad. NOT what I was expecting. For a ‘salad’ it was just literally 7 slices of cucumber, 4 grape tomatoes(or cherry, whatever) and LITERALLY4PIECES of chopped onion, which really amounts to like one whole slice only. My bbq chicken was okay, though. Kinda hard and chewy, but nonetheless okay. Pops had the haddock fish thing… ‘Twas okay. Mom had the meatloaf, it was okay. Sis haf the popcorn shrimp thing with fries… she liked it. They also serve you with cornbread and biscuits… meh. Their grits are watery. Their fried apple slices did not look fried, just soggy. We had the apple dumpling pie dessert – thing. Sweetened just right. Basically if you’re looking for American brunch, I’d rather go to Kelley’s Country Cookin(one on the other side of League City, one closer to the La Marque area) because those places IMPRESS you and leave you full. I don’t know about giving this place another try when I can get better southern brunch elsewhere!

I’d rate them between a one and two stars and my wife would rate them be between two and three so it came out two. It’s odd we end up going every couple of months to a place we rate so low and is kinda far. I would never go, so it’s she who suggests it. This is what happens when you eat out every meal. After you get there you have to work your way through tiny isles jammed with people who usually ignore you trying to squeeze by. They don’t have anything I really like. Their dressing(chicken) is a little above OK and they are one of the few places I can get fried chicken livers, but theirs are well on their way to tasteless. I like chicken fried steak, but theirs is tough. I got the sausage sandwich today. It was pretty good but hard to eat as a sandwich. Also, it needed mustard and mayonnaise which the waiter took a too long to bring and they came in those tiny plastic squeeze tubes. You have to use your teeth to get them open while wondering whoall has handled them and much of the stuff that doesn’t get on your fingers stays in the tube. Given their old-timey theme, it’s incongruous for them to serve condiments Jack-In-The-Box style. I hate those damn things. My wife got the ‘good for you’ veggie plate making me wonder who gets the bad for you veggie plate. The service today was really bad. We waited 10 minutes for them to take our order and 20 more ’til we got the food. The manager came by pretending to care how things were and when we told him he blew us off with«Yeah, we’re real busy today.» They’ve been busy every time we’ve been there, though god knows why. It’s loud and like eating with a herd of cattle at the trough. Did you see where they recently fired a 73 year old Vietnam vet for giving a needy man one muffin? Unbelievable! So much for their folksy pretense. Like I say, I don’t understand why we, or anyone goes there. ___ We’ve Eaten Out Every Meal for 25 years
