Perry Family YMCA

One of the nicest YMCA gyms I have ever been to. Brand new treadmills have been installed for your cardio pleasure. I’ve never really taken advantage of the classes or the smoothie shop, but it is all there for the taking. Even at 5pm on a week night the gym is not overly crowded. You do not have to wait for cardio machines and the best part is 98% of the machines were fully functioning. Nothing but great things to say about this place.

I am new and loving here! It’s no a meat market, jersey shore guido gym. Everyone of all ages is welcome. I am impressed with all the seniors there, and they have classes geared for those that are less active.
Beware! Some of those seniors are FEISTY! One senior lady snapped at me for moving the wrong direction on the circuit training equipment! haha! I went the wrong way on some of the equipment and if she had an umbrella I am sure she would have hit me over the head with it! I just had to laugh, that will be me one day!
So, I would advise taking a thorough tour and asking what is expected of you as a member, and yes, as a member you should be respectful of how things operate. I just hadn’t been a gym member in some time because I don’t like places like 24hour where people have some serious judgy eyes!
This place IS NOT CHEAP. It is quite a bit more expensive than the competitors, but it is month to month and they don’t pressure you one bit. What is nice is that if you refer someone, you get a month free! Awesome!
Facilities are vast, clean (wipe down your equipment after you use it, your momma doesn’t work here! ;))
Classes will kick your butt! Will add more as I take more classes!

I love it here! The gym is clean never overly packed like 24! All machines working and maintained. My children love the pool and child care center! Cheaper then a regular gym membership and you get a ton of benefits.

This gym is clean. No matter where you look it is pristine. The lockers rooms have plenty of room and is never congested. Having a Smoothie King makes it easy to get a healthy snack while leaving the gym and is in a convenient location.
The hours really stink though. I also do not like the set up of the nautilus equipment. They are so close together that you have no room to even walk by if someone else is on a machine. There are 2 small mirrors near the free weights and none anywhere else but there are TV’s attached to every piece of equipment in there. It seems a little backwards since everyone at the gym is there to work on their body.
Even with a few drawbacks this will still be my gym for the time being because of location and cleanliness.

I like this gym. It’s clean and fun for the kids. The only downsides are that the hours for childcare are no convenient what so ever and have made me think about joining somewhere else. Other than that, it’s a good, clean, safe place to go and work out.

Best Y I’ve ever been to! AWESOME pool for the kids! GREAT daycare facility, very clean and bright and friendly. Best pilates class I’ve ever had was at this Y. Cute smoothie stand. Nice bball court and state of the art spinning studio… Very clean locker rooms!
I AM GIVING 4 STARS FOR ONE VERY IMPORTANT REASON: Why, oh why, do you need to close your daycare from 12 – 4!!! How frustrating! And it seems like all the gyms around here do this… I would be able to come here MUCH, MUCH more often if that window of time was open for me! BOOOOOO!!!

I have been a member of this facility since July, and have been at least 2 – 3 times per week since. I have used the weight room and attended group exercise classes for myself, and used the pool and child care for my son. The facility and instructors are top-​notch!

This is the newest YMCA in the greater Clear Lake area. It’s somehow unified with the E.A.Smith YMCA (Clear Lake, Hwy 3) so one membership gets you in at either of them.
The real ‘Wow’ of this place is its swimming pool /​water park. A huge shallow kids area with many different water features — fountains, slides, big water guns and more — are lots of fun for kids below teenagers. Teens will like the huge yellow water slide. The whole installation is very colorful and pretty.
Facility is new — built ~2008. Locker rooms are clean, well lit, attractive. There are several small ‘family’ changing rooms with showers.
Weight room is good, but not as fine as the one at E.A.Smith. There’s child care, but the hours are somewhat restricted (For Sundays, only 2 hours in the early afternoon.)
The weight room is decent, but not quite as nice as the E.A.Smith’s. Childcare hours have been cut back, but they’ve got a nice playroom for kids.
