Do not buy a water heater to be installed from Home Depot. There same day advertised delivery was 4 days later. They contract through ARS. ARS employee Cassandra on the phone is extremely rude. They refused to give me a price when I purchased the water heater. The installer who finally came out at 7pm on a Friday night then told me he had to cut through my water lines, install new ones and that it would cost me $ 925. I asked him to leave, went straight to Lowes at 8pm on a Friday. Bought the same water heater for $ 100 less, their installers were at my house at 8am Saturday morning and installed it for $ 299. They did not cut through my water lines at all. They simply removed the old one and out the new water heater in its place. They were done in 45 minutes.

I have learned which big box retailer to go to depending on what I’m looking for. If it is a big ticket item, it depends on the brand. If it’s a specialty item, I probably won’t find it at either location. All in all, this particular HD is located closest to my house. The employees here offer good help when you can find them. I don’t mean that as a negative but the employees seem to be hit/miss. Sometimes they seemed to be understaffed and at others there everywhere. It probably has something to do with Murphy’s Law. When I need them really bad or I’m in a hurry… good luck. When I’m not… poof, there they are. All in all, I find this HD to be as good as any other I’ve shopped at. If you found this review useful, funny, or cool, let me know below. Thanks.

Yesterday I was in and had a fabulous time buying supplies for my library. Everyone was very helpful. The only place I could have used a little assistance was in the paint department, but they were obviously over-requested and under-staffed, so I will try another day.

Manager Rose is very unprofessional. She will not honor the price match guarantee. She wasted an hour of our time arguing over the price. We brought the competitor’s ad with us as required. In the end she refused to give us the deal. We went straight to the home depot in Alvin & had an amazing experience.

We moved into a new house and were in need of a new refrigerator. I went to Lowes and then to Home Depot to compare the prices. I got a better deal at Home Depot. The day of delivery I was told the window was noon — 4pm. I waited all day and the delivery guys got to our house at 4:30pm. The refrigerator was damaged. The delivery guy called the warehouse and they had to order another one. They could not get that one delivered until 1⁄31. This happened on 12⁄19 so that would mean Christmas with no refrigerator. delivery guy was very nice and it was not his fault but it was still very annoying. I called the store and spoke to a person in customer care who actually told me she was going on vacation and would leave a note for someone else to take care of it. What? I went back to Lowes and got a refrigerator delivered the next day. Moral of the story is $ 100 isn’t worth the aggravation and wasted time dealing with employees more concerned with their vacation time. Shop at Lowes.

UGH! On line orders come in damaged more often than not. On line to store order showed up damaged. Go to the store and count yourself lucky if you can find help in a specific department like kitchens or flooring. I looked behind the counter and found the grout sample kit, we picked out the grout and found our grout on the shelf and left before anyone showed up in flooring. Previously I waited thirty minutes to ask a question about counters because they only had one person there. They do have good prices but expect to work for it if you need help or order on line.

Standard Home Depot. Nothing remarkable in a good or bad way.

This is review is for the Kids Workshops that are held on the first Saturday of the month. I attend these workshops with my 6 year old and he absolutely loves them. Today we made/assembled the NASCAR #20 Home Depot car. The assembly was simple and fun for kids. It involved gluing a couple of pieces together and some hammering of nails to secure the glued pieces. This month’s project did not include painting like last month’s project, but never the less it was still fun for the kids. In my opinion the only downside to the Kids Workshop is that Chick-fil-A must sponsor these workshops so the past two times I have been there is always a representative from Chick-fil-A passing out coupons and other related content. That is not the downside, the downside to me is that the Chick-fil-A cow also comes along for a visit and just walks around the work area trying to engage with the kids while we are trying to work on a project together. It can be distracting at times since the cow will sometimes just sit next to the kids desiring their attention. If ignored long enough the cow will just move to the next table and try to interact with another set of kids. This is a great free program that The Home Depot provides for the community. All the kids that I see participating seem to all have a good time including my son.
