Good pizza but it’s always too hot inside their restaurant. And the owner is pretty rude. I might try ordering from them for delivery since I wouldn’t have to endure their wickedly-hot restaurant.

Wanted a specialty pizza I wanted three quarters pepperoni I even said I’d pay extra. Oh no we can’t do that said the owner he was very rude. Lost a customer forever This place even had an awful smell. Good riddance, we will never give that dump the chance for our business. Dominos was so much better anyways. Highway 29 dominos rules with great customer service. ¾ pepperoni. No problem at dominos!

I was ordering by the slice so the options were really limited– but the pizza was really good! I’m not a big pizza person which is a shocker to pretty much everyone but I really enjoyed what I had! Definitely recommended.

My father is from NY, so imagine us growing up in Texas constantly hearing about what REAL pizza should look, taste, and feel like… a crisp yet airy crust, a wide thin slice you fold, etc. I visit family in NY frequently and indulge in pizza from all corners of the city. Once we even did a pizza tour to determine which borough had the best pizza… Brooklyn won! AJs has great authentic NY pizza, good toppings, and a perfect crust. The wings are really good too. The store is clean, and the staff is friendly and always helps hauling out my large orders. One employee even helped me carry my items to the far backside of the parking lot with a smile and a friendly walk & talk. I live ten minutes away, but get my AJs Pizza fix at least once a month… check their site for the daily deals.

Overall 3.5 Ordered from here for a NYE get together. They delivered sooner than the amount of time they quoted which was a plus and they were friendly. Not the best NY style pizza I’ve had but def not the worst. The X-Large pizzas are huge and two of those would feed a good 6 – 7 people. The crust is thin but not ultra authentic. Not bad for Leander ;).

I was at HEB to return a movie to redbox and noticed their specials on the door. I have wanted to try their pizza for a while now, not to mention I was starving, so I dropped in to pick one up for myself and my husband for lunch. The small pizza was about the size of a medium from Domino’s and was $ 6.99 for a two topping carry out. I chose pepperoni and jalapeño and while waiting for it to bake added breadsticks to my order as well. I figured they would be somewhere in the $ 3 – 4 range but they were $ 6.98. I was a little shocked that I spent the same price on those as I did on the pizza but I figured we would have some leftover that could go with dinner too. The man behind the counter was throwing dough in the air and the smells were fantastic so I let it be and waited for my order. The girl working the cashier was also very nice. She handed me two of the same sized boxes so I assumed the breadsticks were basically another pizza without sauce and cheese. When I got home and opened it I was surprised to see they were small and thick, similar to fingerling potatoes, just scattered about the box. They were good but I felt $ 7 was steep. The pizza itself had a great crust and I enjoyed everything but the pepperoni. I like larger cut pepperoni because when the smaller ones are used like they do here, they curl in the oven and become little holding pools of grease. The pizza is New York style and they make the giant pies and sell by the slice as well. I would come back again to try one of their specialty pizzas.

To all of you who keep Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Pappa John’s & Mr Gatti’s in business this might not be the place for you! In fact, if you like a whole pie best then you don’t know anything about East Coast or NY Pizza. Born in Maryland and having spent lots of time in NY. I have a particular taste I’m looking for when I want pizza. For all of you that wonder how long a slice has been sitting out you don’t know East Coast Pizza! I actually am a bit disappointed if they have to bake a new pizza for me because there’s no cheese or pepperoni pizza sitting out. The reason for my disappointment is that, in my opinion, the crust is crispier when it is heated up a second time. Yes, that’s exactly how they serve most slice pizza on the East Coast and NYC. Different strokes for different folks, but this Pizza at AJ’s is NY Pizza! Came back; still excellent!
Just ate my last pizza from AJ’s. Their pizza is great but their customer service sucks. They have messed up my last two pizza orders and the owner acts like it is no big deal to wait another 10 minutes for them to replace it. To make matters worse, now they have raised their prices. I don’t know why I’m surprised though, this seems to be pretty typical of privately owned businesses.
