It’s not a bad paintball field at all, but I’m definitely giving them 4 stars more for price than anything else. As far as I’ve seen, they’re the least expensive field in the Austin area. The entrance fee is only $ 10 per person, and that includes free CO2 refills throughout the day. If you don’t own any paintball gear, you can rent it from them for another $ 10, but you have to call and reserve it some time in advance. That includes the gun, which is typically a Tippmann 98, CO2 tank, hopper and mask. They don’t sell paintballs, but that’s not bad because most of the other fields gouge the hell out of you. So it’s actually cheaper to buy paintballs somewhere else and bring them in with you. For those who’ve never played, a box of 2,000 rounds per person should be enough for several hours, depending on how you shoot. The fields themselves aren’t bad at all. They’ve got several acres of fields with a variety of forts and obstacles. They’ve got your usual setups, including sniper towers, king of the hill, crack house, etc. They’ve also got a separate, fenced off patch of forest, for the woodsball purists. LPA’s located way the hell up in Leander, so if you’ve never been there before, don’t be afraid if you start hearing banjo music. The people who run the place are really nice and funny, but they don’t screw around when it comes to safety. So make sure you always have a barrel plug in when you come in off the field, and that you’re wearing a mask when you’re on the field. Other than that, bring some friends and a cooler and have a great time.
