Where to begin? To start, making a reservation and communicating with Vern & Linny was quick, simple and easy. They were very friendly and helpful during our email communication and the website was very intuitive. After an sudden winter snowstorm of 6″, our vehicle was stuck leaving us lost, cold and unsure how to get to Scandanavian Escapes. After a a quick call to Linny, Mr. Vern gladly retrieved us from our car(which was stuck in the snow!). After hearing that we had not eaten supper, Mr. Vern was nice enough to provide us with both a taxi number and a lift into town. The online pictures don’t do the«Birchwood Tree House» justice, but it was our favorite room in the house. Although a smaller room, the décor was beautiful and cozy and we loved the bird theme. The private deck was a nice touch and the morning coffee + breakfast in bed truly made the tree house unforgettable– we can’t recommend this room enough. Their hospitality was outstanding– we had such an incredible time at the Scandanavian Escapes that we’re already planning our next stay at the Birchwood Tree House. Many thanks to Linny and Vern(and Ruby) for a very memorable weekend.

This B&B is the«best». Linny and Vern are there to meet every need of their guests. The bed, so comfortable! The breakfast, so delicious! The views and surroundings so beautiful and relaxing. My stay was a much needed relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

As a preface, we stayed in the Valhalla suite, and as such my review will reflect that. Too, as this being my wife and I’s first experience in a B&B, the five stars given reflect an experience that rivals that of elite hotel’s. Now on to the room, and it is quite a work of art. Genuine, well-heeled interior design coupled with an opulent bathroom. I’m a sucker for good tile work and its in no short supply. Muted gold travertine rightly sized with perfect accents for the walk in shower, a deep jetted tub with similar accessories with my only gripe being the toilet, and by that I actually mean the space in which you must use the toilet. Certain logistical considerations forced the toilet room into being a pretty box with no room to speak of. Not a dealbreaker at all. You are in a kingdom. The view from the balcony gives you a perfect shot of one of the peaks in the local range, oddly reminiscent of a Ricola commerical and giving way to sexy views if the weather is right. Theres a telescope too. Secluded roughly 8 minutes from ‘the Town’ itself, the Escape(aptly named) is cloaked in nature itself giving you a sense of invisibility amongst a plethora of shops, beer, chocolate and so on. To speak of the hosts themselves, they were perfectly imperceptible, delightful, and served a delicious breakfast each morning at whatever time we requested, even accommodated my gluten issues! And with a smile. They are truly sweet folks. I would wager there are few if any better B&B’s in Leavenworth, all things considered. And I bet I would win that wager. Cheers

We stayed here a few nights on our honeymoon in 2010. Being first timer B & B-ers we did not know what to expect, but we loved our stay. The room was so so comfortable, we loved the giant comfy bed and lovely bathroom. The retreat is a bit away from town, but not to worry the drive is beautiful. I would recommend this place to anyone!

A solid 4.5 stars. This was our first experience at a B&B, and we loved it! It’s only a few minutes from town and the setting is very peaceful, lots of nature around. We came out to eat breakfast on the deck, and there was a deer and her fawn grazing just a few feet away up the hill! The grounds are very well-kept and there is a pool/hot tub deck with a lovely view up the valley to the mountains. The room was cozy but cute, with a very comfy bed(loved the linens!), a private bath, and(even better) a private entrance. The breakfasts were delicious, and there was plenty of coffee available in the shared library. The only reason this isn’t a 5 star is that some of our silverware and glasses were a little dirty(like the dishwasher hadn’t quite been up to the task), but to be fair I didn’t have a chance to bring this up with our gracious hostess and I’m sure she would have been mortified. Otherwise we had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again.

Romantic and intimate B&B getaway just minutes from Leavenworth town center. Incredible hosts with 8 years of experience, 30 years residency — delicious hot breakfast at your door each morning. Cozy shared library, pool, and hot tub. House has views of the valley and is off the road and very quiet. The suite and two medium sized rooms are accented with Scandinavian craftsman woodwork. Rooms are connected to open en-suite bathrooms. Gas fireplaces. Very clean, quiet, friendly and a great place to meet other travelers. 4 – 5 minute drive to Front Street in Leavenworth. Walking distance to Icicle Creek.
