Michael Shae Salon & Day Spa

I wouldn’t go here again. I’m new to the area and found this salon through Unilocal as well as a recommendation from someone I know.
I have really thick hair with a weird wave that is only in the back, underside part of my hair. I went in with pictures of how I wanted my hair to look (not pictures of celebrities, pictures of me) as well as describing what I wanted. I wanted a short layered bob-​ish type cut with my hair significantly thinned out. I didn’t get at all what I wanted and to top it off, my hair isn’t even on both sides if you look at it. I asked for layers and I barely got any — What I did get are so choppy and not even on both sides of my head. I also asked for my hair to be thinned out (using thinning sheers) and my hair is still so thick. The cut isn’t even, polished, or even what I wanted. The one thing I got is it’s short but, now I’m afraid in order to even fix it, its going to be much shorter. At the end of the cut, I sat in the chair looking at my cut from the front and had to ask for a mirror in order to see the back. I think if I hadn’t asked for a mirror, the stylist would not have tried to show it to me… which was weird.
I would have expected much more from a haircut after sitting in the chair for almost 2 hours. So disappointed.

I wouldn’t recommend Michael Shae Salon to anyone.
I went to the salon on December 20^th to get haircut. The stylist who worked on my hair was preoccupied with taking on-​line survey with the surgery center for her foot surgery. She walked out on me several times, while cutting my hair and it was the receptionist who ended up blow drying my hair.
From consulting to blow drying, it took less than 20 minutes.
They gave me a 20% discount for being a first time customer, so I paid $ 46, which wasn’t worth it. The experience and the results were waste of time and money.

It’s always difficult to find the perfect Stylist moving to a new city but I’ve definitely found my favorite spot. Andrea gave me a simple cut, (but I’ve had simple cuts go very wrong before) & I feel so much better! We had a consult last week & she was super sweet & understood exactly what I wanted. It turned out great & I plan on seeing her again for as long as possible.

In town for a wedding and concierge suggested this place. Had a wonderful experience with Sara. She did a wonderful job with my color and she was very knowledgeable. The location is excellent. The staff is friendly. The price is fair and the going rate when compared to my home state of AZ. I have family here and I would definitely return to this salon.

I am new to the area and found this salon by looking on Unilocal– I got an appointment that same day with Sarah– she was super nice, profession, and explained everything… I love the way my cut and highlights turned out! I will definitely be going back there: D
