Well she didn’t die but they didn’t help much else. In emergency now for 10 hours, the nurses do not answer questions, they just turn their back and continue gossiping with the other staff. Takes 30 min on average to answer the nurse call button. Then came in to take urine sample and the left the container on the counter for three hours before a nurse took it for the test. Also were a hour and a half late to draw blood for a blood test. Also do not offer blankets, pillows or nothing for patients. Not even a drink after being in here this long.

An open letter to four people who worked in the ER on Monday night/Tuesday morning: To Dr. Hinkle — thank you for going above and beyond to check my mom out. I didn’t recognize you, but she did. She explained to me that you were there when I was 11 years old and got my first complicated migraine. All I remember from that night is that it was the first night I swore in front her. When I wanted to say that I didn’t want any shots, I instead said«I don’t want any shits!» You were also there for her when she fell off the porch and broke her nose(you laughed at her because she was the first person you saw that night that wasn’t in the hospital as a result of drunk driving), and when my dad died. Having you there on Monday was nothing short of a blessing. To Ed the nurse — to retire from the NYFD and then become a nurse shows great kindness. Thank you for your lighthearted sense of humor and for making my mom feel comfortable. I can’t express enough appreciation! To Mike(I don’t know your title, but you gave my mom her EKG) — thank you for sharing the little factoid about your stepmother and for your general good attitude. I could tell that it put my mom at ease. To Amanda(I don’t know your title, but you came to take my mom for her CT) — thank you for entertaining us with your unbelievable story about the ER renovation, and for your overall sweet demeanor. The four of you have given me a bit more faith in the goodness of people!
