you know when a place is trying to be too fancy but it’s not… so after reading 5 star Unilocal reviews, we took our family there from long valley 30 minute drive. we are big fans of anything mediterranean/middle eastern. maybe i had great hopes since we are always searching for new places around this area. people were nice not overly friendly in anyway. we were seated promptly two adults and two children. there were three other tables seated already with 2 couples at each table. tables are all set with wine glasses, when i asked to have them removed(because of the kids) the waitress seemed annoyed. but moved them kindly. we got our menus and water, no one told us anything about specials. we ordered a bunch of apps because i didn’t see a combo app on the menu. maybe it was in the veg entrée section… baba, hummus, falafal, grape leaves, tabbouleh,(which we never got but i’m pretty sure i was charged for. i should have double checked) and calamari. we received warm pita and a tomato based dip. everything came to the table when it was ready first the hummus and baba(but this took some time…) then grape leaves and calamari. we also got two entrees lamb and chicken kabobs, it came with grilled veges and rice. over all the food was Good but not Great and you can byob which is awesome for people that drink. the décor is bit odd i guess but the place seemed dirty we sat at a four top by the wall. maybe it’s just me… our check was about 78 $ + tip (with kids i was in such a rush to get out. service was slow: owner, one waitress and a cook i think. some of the people there were def regulars and it was a friday night) when trying a new place we always get all the standard items. so here are a few others: (i give this place 4 stars super cute décor w good food fantastic service) 68 $ + tip flanders (this place 5 stars they make there own clay bread pita bread great food w fantastic service) 70 $ + tip new brunswick (cute hole in the wall 5 stars) 50 $ no tip counter joint jersey city

I love this place. My ONLY critique is that I wish their on line menu pricing was accurate and that it included the duck entrée that I have always been able to order. The food and the service — take out OR dine in — has always been very good. Recommended.

My husband isn’t one for trying different but tonight was an exception to the rule. Since the both of us weren’t sure of the different sauces, mixed with a variety spices & meats we’re not accustomed to eating, the owner was very gentle LOL with us and happy to explain in detail. The food was fabulous & so was the service. I’m not crazy about it being in a strip mall but that’s something I’ll just have to get over. My portion was fine but my husband’s plate was on the light side. Although it’s pricey it’s worth having such variety in a seemingly rural area. Is recommend it.

Found this little gem in Lebanon, NJ. Only due to its location close to my hotel, and because of the highly positive reviews on Unilocal.Being from out of town, the shopping center location was suspect, and I had no idea that you could bring your own adult beverages. However, the culinary skill lavished on every dish was amazing. The octopus dish was delicately cooked and tender(not chewy) complimented by a light creamy red sauce with capers, fresh tomato, and and an amazing blend of subtle spices. The lamb chop dish was likewise just as impressive. The lamb was cooked to perfection, then covered with an amazing portabello mushroom sauce in a brown gravy with nicely presented potatoe purée and fireroasted veggies(tomato, zucchini and carrot). Oh, and an orchid garnish! Service was exceptional. Additionally, the server gave me a quick ride back to my hotel, after hearing that I had walked there. Although, I dine often there are few establishments that move me to taking the time to write a review. The King Tut Restaurant absolutely exceeded every expectation that I had.

My girlfriend and I were traveling from Kentucky to Cape Cod and were very fortunate enough to happen upon this wonderful establishment. The food was fantastic, and the service was great. We started with an appetizer sampler and then had the lamb and seafood. Finished with a light and delicious dessert of chocolate mousse, pistachio pudding, and perfect espresso. We are so re-energized we plan on driving the next 5 hours to Cape Cod tonight!

i stopped in with my husband for lunch after just moving to the area, and reading the reviews, we were not disappointed! If you enjoy delicious food, in a friendly atmosphere do not hesitate to stop in. The menu has great variety, and we can’t wait to go back to try even more dishes. I would have driven right past this strip mall location, and missed this gem had I not seen reviews on Unilocal.I am glad we didn’t make that mistake.

An absolute god send! My boyfriend and I are on a long road trip and feeling rather wilted from all of the convenience food. We found this place on Unilocal and decided to take a time out to refuel with some quality food. We were not disappointed!!! Everything we ordered was very fresh, healthy, and far above expectation. To start we had the sampler comprised of stuffed grape leaves, babaghanoush, hummus, falafel, and cauliflower cakes. YUMMMM! For my entrée I had the lamb shank with mushrooms and orzo which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. FIVESTARS. And for dessert we had espresso and the chocolate mousse and vanilla pudding. Both incredible as well. Not overly sweet or heavy, exactly what you want after such a big meal. Feeling completely revitalized and ready to finish our journey now. Also got the gnocchi to go because it’s doubtful anything else we will find this evening could possibly compete. May have to time the trip back so that we can stop again!!!

I found the place to be kind of over the top for its location. It’s a strip mall joint but decorated like a brick and mortar stand alone high end restaurant. The menu is splendid and the specials sounded terrific. I popped I. For lunch and was caught off guard by the spectacle. I ordered a normal lunch lamb burger which was just decent. What saved it was the side salad with fresh dill and cilantro. I stuffed it on the burger and poof decent lunch. I would try a dinner entrée next time but for lunch I think it’s way too ostentatious.

This was quite a surprise. We were looking for lunch on our road trip from CT back to DC and found this Middle Eastern gem. The mushroom bisque was delicious and the meat burek was just great. It doesn’t look like much from the outside. It’s in a strip mall and it has the pharaoh theme, but we really enjoyed it.

This place does pretty standard Middle Eastern food, but does it very well. Their hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel, etc. are all very good but nothing special. They have several really outstanding appetizers, but you’ll pay dearly for them. Entrees are beautifully plated and nicely seasoned, but fairly small portions for the price. I would go back for the friendly staff and the charming interior, but I wouldn’t go out of my way.

As soon as I walked in I was welcomed by the owner. I actually stopped in just for business purposes only and the smells of the food was so distracting I had to sit down and take a moment to eat. I was blown away by the variety and flavors of the food. Their lamb shank was so tender and the vegetables was fresh and exceptionally seasoned. I even ordered extra dishes to go for my colleagues and girlfriend. They all raved about the food. The prices are exceptionally low compared to the Gourmet quality style food you get in return. The restaurant is warm and welcoming for relaxed dining and conversation. This place is a must to experience genuine Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food.

First time eating here and I was not disappointed. I had the red lentil bean soup appetizer the foushari vegetarian dish for my entrée. Both were excellent. I also really enjoyed the guava juice — refreshing and delicious. The service was excellent and Alex was very friendly. I have never eaten at a middle eastern restaurant so I really have no other to compare this to but I enjoyed it and would dine here again.

Wonderful and friendly employees. You gotta go. Meat burek appetizer? You bet! Stupendous. I got the swordfish special. Yuge. Excellent. My lady got the chicken kababs. Wow. Much moist. Finish up with some baklava and choco cake. Unbelievable. Forget about it.

Excellent quality food. Listen carefully to the specials. Outstanding! I had the falafel salmon. Great employees. Superceded expectations. Recommendation: 1.) Make a special menu! those sound so good! But people have bad memory and would like to know price to fully commit. 2.) Put the drinks on the menu! The mango drink was off the chain! 3.) Add vegetables to the menu! Many dishes have them in them but do not list them on the menu!

You have to go! We visited after the positive Unilocal reviews and had a wonderful time! We were the only people in the place around 5pm on a Monday night and were greeted by what appeared to be the only 2 employees. We both had chilled hibiscus tea, delicious to start. One man reviewed the specials and made us feel as if we were sitting in his kitchen at home, it was charming! The complimentary pita and redpepper sauce was delicious. We started with the crab and shrimp stuffed mushroom with cream sauce, which came divided upon our two plates. Absolutely delicious. Wish I hadn’t eaten so much pita initially because the sauce was phenomenal for dipping! He had the crab stuffed sole over spinach, which was great and he cleared his plate. I had the gnocchi with olives and tomato sauce, and I swear he went in the back and made it from scratch on the spot. Amazing. It’s a charming interior with lanterns and beautiful lighting. I was most impressed by their 2 employees who made the experience special. Will absolutely go back.

Because of the great reviews, me & my friend decided to grab dinner here. The waiters were friendly and i’m glad we decided to try this place but not sure if we would be back… We love trying new foods and the food was very yummy. The part we did not like too much was the waiter brought out a plate of desserts at the end… like we had to pick something. When dining out, I personally would like a drink menu(which they did not have) and a dessert menu(not sure if they even had). We just did not like feeling like we were forced to get something.

Popped in here on a whim on a Tuesday night driving from central PA to Newark. With a quick Unilocal search from the road I found King Tut which is only 2.6mi off I-78. I was literally the only one eating in this strip mall on a Tuesday night, but two people did pop in for takeout. I ordered the Beet Salad($ 8.95) which won’t fill you up but is a decent size to whet your appetite. The arugula was crisp and fresh. For the main I ordered the Koshari($ 12.95) which was small, dense and packed with flavor. I have never had the dish before but the lentils tasted a bit undercooked. For the price it didn’t contain the protein volume I was hoping for(very light on the chickpeas). Probably great as a takeout place, but bang for your buck wise, it’s pretty pricey for a bland environment. I did overhear that on the weekend they have belly dancers, so maybe that’s the time to come in.
