It was very busy for a Friday night but the wait wasn’t that bad. Didn’t have any characters working the crowd and that was a little disappointing but it was made up for in the hayride. Lots of big scares and laughs. It was a really great time and well worth the price of admission

The bog was decent, the hayride… well was boring. Enjoyed the bog though. Thanks.

As far as Haunted Hayrides go, I’d have to say this one is pretty bad ass. First off, the Springboro Haunted Hayride, is actually a hayride. Your piled into a wagon with hay bales along the outside, with just barely enough wagon to rest your back on. I wondered why they didn’t add a row of bales in the middle to fit more people on, but soon found out why. As you descend into the forest and cornfield, nothing looks too out of the ordinary say for the very creepy looking scarecrows. That is until you realize that there’s more coming at you from the corn fields. Soon you start rolling into little scenes and houses and whatnot along the way, and you tend to pick up a passenger or 2 that lurk through the wagon looking for a good victim. The actors have no problem hopping on the outside, or the inside, of the wagon to give you a good scare. Along the way, you’re met with 3 different vehicles headed your way. The first, tries to ram you off the road… literally. The truck type car with sirens on top sideswipes the trailer, making you wonder who is ultimately going to win this fight. The next is a semi barreling towards you only to stop at the last second. And the third is a combine with razor sharp teeth ready to pick off the people you had the misfortune of sitting in the back. There are lots of little scenes set up through out, with actors that come along for the ride through the dead space(no pun intended ;)) and is all around a pretty good experience. I feel they could do a little more with the scaring and the interacting, but I think that of 90% of these things. The Black Bog was included in the combo ticket and was more of your walking trail type. The neat thing here is that they had houses and buses to walk through breaking up the path a little. Again there were a few smaller houses set up with porches that you didn’t actually walk through, but walked by, where nothing happened. Not so much as an animatronic or strobe light. Those few parts could use a little more work. The cemetery scene was well set up with the mausoleums, but most the head stones were either lying flat on the ground or had no light on them, so they were hard to pick out if you weren’t paying attention to the scenery. The actors in this part did a great job of using the buildings in ways you wouldn’t expect a scare out of. You then walked through a construction site/toxic waste dump that had surprises around every corner. and then into an old trailer, where the actors here did a great job! You wind through some more twists and turns and small trailers to be met with a creepy unfitting, yet it works, room full of creepy looking bunnies before the big bang of an ending ;) All in all there a few areas that could have more potential but is one of the better ones around! That and the fact that its an actual hayride just makes it an awesome October outing!
