Absolutely worth the stop! The owner welcomed us in and gave a great sampling and mini tour. She had wonderful stories behind their wines and it was really relaxing and laid back. I purchased a few bottles to take home and a very cool moose wine bottle holder which was a perfect décor piece for this MN gal!

This was my first winery and I’m so happy it was. I had a terrific time and enjoyed all the wine I was able to taste. Fortunately I found a $ 5 Groupon that got me a wine tasting for two(nine different wines), a cheese and cracker plate, a logo wine glass and a tour! That’s an amazing deal!!! We were able to choose from two different cheeses. Gouda or sundried tomato and basil. I chose the gouda because I wanted a milder flavor in order to taste all the notes in the wine. It was a great choice! It was so good I bought two blocks(only $ 5) to take home. Yummy! The cheese was made at a Kentucky farm about an hour north of Lebanon(I don’t remember the name). About the wine… my favorite was the Cabernet Sauvignon. It wasn’t on the list so it was an extra special treat. I actually bought a full glass of the Riesling(another favorite of mine) after the tasting was over. It was very light, crisp and had a nice apple and lemon flavor. I wanted to buy a bottle to take home but they were unfortunately out. I ended up going with a bottle of the Moscato. It had a punch of apricot and peach flavor that I really fell in love with. I wasn’t a huge fan of the really sweet wines like the Mooned White and the Mooned Red(this was a best seller). I’m not saying they were bad, because they weren’t. I’m just not into sweet wines as much. So much sugar! Now I know I bought a Moscato and those do normally run sweet, but this particular one wasn’t as sweet as the ones I had in the past. I’m usually a Malbec drinker so this was definitely something different for me. The bottle of wine was $ 15. Most were that price except for the Cab Sav, the Merlot and the Plum wine. Those were $ 19. Now onto the Plum wine. Wow! I’m kicking myself now for not buying a bottle of that. It’s described as a sweet tart like flavor and that’s exactly what it reminded me of. Totally yummy! You can sit inside the winery or go out to the table and chairs located in the yard by the two fire pits. What a gorgeous view! It was so relaxing sipping on a glass of vino on a beautiful sunny Autumn day. Ahhhhh! Another thing I enjoyed was the tour. It was a short and sweet demonstration but I did learn a lot. I never knew so much went into the wine making and bottling process! The two owners were very helpful and friendly. They always had a smile on their face and were full of jokes and laughter. It did make the experience that much better. I recommend taking a drive out to see the folks at Whitemoon Winery! The name by the way comes from White Dog and moonshine! Very cool. :)

My family I saw the sign for White Moon Winery on our way to the Maker’s Distillery and we planned a stop after our tour. We are glad we slowed down to stop. As we entered the winery, we were greeted by a sweet puppy and one of the owners. She was extremely personal and welcoming. The tasting was paired with some local cheeses. We also received a very interesting tour. I highly recommend stopping at this winery to enjoy some good company and fantastic wine. WhiteMoon Winery is top notch and probably the best winery in Lebanon.

After leaving Markers Mark, I noticed the sign for this place and talked my husband into going. The tasting room was new and gorgeous. The owner was there and was extremely nice. She offered us a tour of the tank area. It was quite small. The tasting was reasonably priced and I got to take the glass home too. I just didn’t like any of the wines. Maybe my palet was damaged for the day, after several bourbon tastings. They even had a couple of slushy wines(I don’t know the proper name for them) but I usually always like those… not these though :(I really wanted to like something from here but I just didn’t. The winery was a five star but their wine, which is the reason that I go to a winery, not so much of a five.

We just finished our last Bourbon Tour at the Limestone Distillery. They mentioned that there was a winery a couples miles down and that we should check it out. They highly recommended it. When we stepped in, it was not busy at all. Just two other women that were about to try a tasting so we joined in. I really didn’t like the setup. There was no bar or island, just a couple of barrels, which was a great idea but we wanted to sit down and really enjoy the tasting. It was $ 5.00 for the tasting which I think you get to try 5 or 6 small portions of whites and reds. She was great at explaining the types of wines and stories behind them, however I felt rushed to drink it. Literally it only took 10 minutes to try it and ended up buying a semi-dry White. The wines were okay, the tastes were kind of watered down and nothing stood out. The employee was very friendly. The time spent there went really quick.
