Wanted to have some good Cuban food while in these parts, so stopped off here based on the great Unilocal reviews. I arrived at 11:30AM and the inside seating was almost full. By Noon, the inside was full and the large outside patio was filling up. Always a good sign to see a restaurant filled with locals! Service was very friendly and food came out surprisingly fast given how busy they were. Yucca fries with garlic aoli were spot on! Couldn’t decide what I wanted so played it safe with the 8 inch pressed Cuban sandwich which was classic and very good. Finished it off with homemade key lime pie. Since I had a drive ahead, took a mango milkshake to go. Everything I had was delicious! I will definitely be back to try other menu items!

A year later and it remains our #1 restaurant selection in the area. We absolutely love it. You will, too.

What would we all do without Unilocal. My wife and I were in an area of Florida we had never been, and were getting hungry. We would not have given Havana House a second look from the road because there were no cars(at that time, they came later) and the building is not distinctive. Our lunch was wonderful. This is only the second place where we have had Yucca fries, and they were the best yet. My pulled pork was spectacular, with a nice gravy. My wife’s Cuban sandwich was the best she has had, and even the small(6 inch) was big enough to take home half for the next day. That and the decorations are quite fun, such as signs like«Time flies when you are having Rum». And the best part was they had a Unilocal Deal to save me $ 5. Again, what would we do without Unilocal

Amazing food amazing service You must try the Lechon(pork) and the flan. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but that is deceiving. Give this place a try

We just happened on this little gem. It is easy to miss along the road. The food was delicious. We are from Miami and this was as good as any Cuban food we have had in Miami. Delicious fish, a great salad and a wonderful flan for dessert. Inexpensive and friendly service.

Nothing on the menu that anyone tried was worth the visit and what I had was inedible. Not just an acquired taste but really distasteful. I tried this place twice and the location in CR couple of times to make sure it wasn’t a one time mistake. No such luck. That could be why the other location was generally empty and eventually closed. Some people seem to like it very much so I have to conclude they are doing something right — for people who like what this place offers. There was nothing wrong or unpleasant about the business — except the food.

Amazing Cuban food. We had a great experience. Also: the service was wonderful. The waitress was very friendly and the chef brought the food to our table this evening. Will definitely be back.

As your standard«dude who has way too many Unilocal reviews», I’m often guilty of over-using the phrase«Hidden Gem». That’s what this place is though. Lecanto, FL? Huh? What? Where? Is that the real name for a Cuban sandwich? We ended up here because we were at Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park all day and feeling severely hangry. I hit up the Unilocal app because I had NOIDEA what was available in this weird little nook of the F-L-A and didn’t want to end up eating Wendy’s. It was between this place and seafood and since I know an illogical amount of Floridians that don’t enjoy food out of the ocean: we went here. It’s easy to miss driving down the road. We missed it, in fact. We hung a U-y and walked in. The space is small and snug. There was one girl running the whole show. We got empanadas and yuca for appetizers, they were both incredible as were the sauces! I ended up getting a dinner plate with pork, beef, and plantains. Food was wonderfully flavorful and portions were surprisingly large. Oh, and prices were CHEAP. What is not to love?

I live in Miami and I always try Cuban places when I’m traveling, and they usually come up short, but this place is the real deal! We were only here for the weekend and I had to eat at this place twice from how ridiculously good the food is! BIGTHUMBSUP to everyone that contributes to the food and service at this spot. You def have to try the pork sandwich. It’s the best I’ve had!!! We are def coming back!

I’ve been here numerous times. Really love this little place, whether it’s eating in or carry out. Very clean and somewhat small inside, they do have plenty of outdoor seating as well. My favorite items are the pressed Cuban, yucca fries, and the Cuban nachos! We’ve never had a bad meal, although it is very heavy/rich. We will be back!

The food was good. A lot for the price which was great! The Cuban was… alright. Lunch meat pressed. And the tostones rellenos was good, tasted like chili cheese fries. We also had the yuca with garlic aoli which was really good. And at the end we ordered milkshakes. Papaya was delicious and the passion fruit was alright. They were really busy but the service was still quick and very courteous. They kept making sure the table was clean and we were doing okay. All in all not the best Cuban food but it was delish for the price and service.

Just stopped in for lunch with my dad and was more than pleasantly surprised! Between us, we shared a Cuban, Piccadillo Tacos, Tostones con mojo(Vampires Beware!), plaintains and rice. Everything was spot on – which I have found to be more and more difficult to be the case in Cuban restaurants. I’ve certainly had my share of authentic Cuban fare in Little Havana and Ybor City – some of which was better and certainly some food that wasn’t as good as Havana House. I’ll be heading back to check out the Yucca Fries and several other tempting dishes… Prices were very reasonable, service was amazing and everyone was very friendly. This is a great find in Citrus County! Go there soon.

This place is awesome! The food is fantastic, the owners and waitstaff are awesome, and prices are great! The fried yuca is a must have, as its some of the best I’ve had outside of Central America.

Great service, affordable pricing. Food was decent but not great. I enjoyed the Cuban sandwich but my wife found the lechon asado bland. The restaurant Is clean and comfortable with ample parking.

This place is a great hidden gem! Had the ropa vieja, plantains, and rice & beans. All fantastic! To top it all off, we tried the key lime pie. Wonderful, fresh, and shareable!

We had just arrived to the area and were craving for some real latin food so it was awesome that such great Cuban taste was just 3 miles from home! The ham croquettes were perfect, the mamey and guanabana smoothies excellent and the tostones awesome! My wife enjoyed the picadillo and the rice and beans. You will not go wrong here!

Service was decent which is why I gave them a two star rating, but the food was just downright bad and inedible in some instances with the exception of the Cuban Nachos we had as an appetizer. While those were good, they were pretty generic and could be found at pretty much any Cuban/Mexican restaurant. I ordered the Lechon Asado(roasted Mojo Pork) with Rice and Black Beans. Saying that I had undercooked rice would be an understatement. A good portion of it was still raw and crunchy. I thought I chipped a tooth at first, but realized shortly after that was rice. The Mojo Pork dish was tender, but lacked flavor which makes no sense as it cooks all day in citrus juices and spices. It was mind boggling to say the least. Plus the portion size was a bit small for the price. I was hoping for something good and authentic while I stayed down there for work and left feeling let down and still hungry.

Sunday at 2:00 the three of us ordered empanadas as an appetizer — beef, chicken and pork. They were all winners with the chicken being a little bland but tender, the beef was delish, and the pork was good. The crust was perfectly crusty! I’ll order these again. Hubby had pan-con bistec or Cuban steak sandwich. Had a good flavor but would not say together. The bread was excellent. I had piccodillo with yellow rice and black beans. The black beans were mildly spiced and pretty good. I liked my dish and would order it again. Our server was wonderful keeping our glasses filled and remembering that I don’t like olives. The son had lechon asado or pulled pork with sides of garlic mashed potatoes and yucca. The yucca came smothered with beautiful grilled onion which he doesn’t like, but I was the beneficiary of them so life is good. He loved the pork and yucca . There are so many good places around here– independently owned, which I love. This one is going into my rotation! What a great surprise.
