Walmart

I went to Walmart today to buy a replacement battery for my car. An associate helped me put it in my cart and I went to the register to pay for my item. I took note that the battery I purchased was filthy, but then so were all the other batteries on the rack. When my husband saw my purchase, he immediately went to the store to return it. This battery looked used; yes it was filthy, there were no caps on the terminals, there was no sticker indicating the date it was manufactured, there were chips and scratches on the back lip, and the sides were bulging out. My husband was correct to return the batter immediately, because Customer Service checked and re-​checked the receipt and battery several times because it did indeed look used. Walmart tried to sell me a used battery for full price $ 157. They obviously care more about their profit than the customer’s safety.
This will be the last time I shop at the Ledgewood Walmart. My impression of this Walmart is that it is dirty store, there are many stains on their cloths, especially White items. I have encountered a number of rude sales reps, I had to wait a good half hour before I found someone to ring up my item ordered from the internet Time after time you have to realize that this Walmart just doesn’t care which is reflected in my battery purchase today.
Sorry, I will be shopping from now on at Target.

For basic needs this place is find but I rather drive a little further to the Walmart superstore. This location is dirty, frequently out if stock, and the staff is unfriendly. But hey, it is Walmart and Walmart prices so I guess you really can’t complain.

seriously this Walmart SUCKS. i live about 5 minutes away from it and i will never go to this one. I’d rather drive 10 extra minutes to another Walmart than to go to this one. They are never in stock with the products, the staff is alright but they always seem like they are in the worst moods. It’s so dead and lifeless in there. It is in need of some serious updating.

I generally don’t shop at Walmart, unless I need something and am in the area. The 1 star rating here is because of the execeptionally poor customer service (lack of) I had to deal with.
I purchased a softball bat (~$ 45) from them to use for practice. We only ever hit official league softballs with it, and it dented in several places within an hour of use. so naturally, I want to return it. We were in the area and I stopped by to return the bat (only a week or so after buying it). I realized I didn’t have my receipt – but I bought it on a credit card and figured they could look it up, as they did in the past.
Wrong.
To start, the woman at the counter was chatting with another associate after helping someone else while I was in line. She didn’t even notice I was waiting, so I just walked up – she muttered something in Spanish to the other associate when I walked up, and rolled her eyes at the same time. Good start. I explained to her my situation, showed her the bat all beat it and asked her if she could look up my purchase.
I was told «no.» I asked her to elaborate and she wouldn’t. I said I’ve returned items before at other Walmart locations, and this was never a problem. She refused to elaborate as to why she couldn’t, and then even said «this doesn’t look like you hit only softballs».
I said if I went home and get the receipt, would she accept the return and said no. I asked to speak to her manager, and she said «not until you have a receipt for proof». At this point, I decided $ 45 wasn’t worth the b.s. and aggravation I was dealing with, and promptly walked out the store.
I am not speaking for all Walmart’s out there – I’m sure there are plenty of good people working at this company. But I will not go to this Walmart again because of this. Just terrible customer «service».
