The service was fine. I don’t really think a detailed account of our visit is necessary. Suffice it to say, you can find much better Italian food in this city. We won’t be back.

Excellent food. The portions are overwhelming! Wine selection is very good. Service is quite good. Found the dining area to be too noisy for reasonable table discussion. If you don’t mind a «less than quiet» atmosphere the balance of the experience is exceptional, comparatively speaking.

I love Garozzo’s! The downtown location is my favorite. Always great food and superb service. Going to LS was a disappointment tonight. We waited for 15 minutes to order an appetizer then another 20 before the waitress came back over to take our order. Truth be told, I had to pull a manager over to ask for our waitress. By that time, she appeared, he said,” there she is” and off he walked. The stuffed artichoke was great. My food was cold and not as tasty. Our waitress continued to struggle. Lee’s Summit has a real shortage of non chain restaurants, so I was hoping for a better experience. I will stick with the other locations, in the future.

Staff was friendly at this location. The Mike’s Diet Chicken is what I got, it is good but not worth the price. My husband got the chicken spidini which was really good. Overall, not bad but not worth the price.

Absolutely delicious! The stuffed artichoke was great for the appetizer. The spaghetti and Italian sausage was also just as should be. The gnocchi and pesto very good. The three day pasta is seriously enough for three days. This was our first time here and really surprised us.

The service and food were very good but the décor could certainly use some updating. Our last visit a few years ago was not the greatest so we thought we would give it another try. A coworker recommended this place right after we moved to the KC area in late 2012 and was disappointed that neither me or the wife tried the Chicken Spidini. This visit had us both trying the Spidini and all four courses. Walking in was like stepping back in time about 20 years and the décor is showing signs of wear. Though worn down everything was clean. We started with the Mozzarella Fritti. The cheese was very fresh and plentiful and the sauce was very good. We ordered a House and Ceasars salad. Both were fresh and the dressings were excellent. Dinner consisted of two different Spidini’s, Gabriella and Georgio. Glad I was hungry because the serving size of each dish was easily for two. Both were prepared perfectly, no knife necessary. The wife did not finish hers so I had what we brought home for lunch the next day and it heated up quite well in the microwave. We each had an excellent Cannoli for dessert. Too bad we waited almost two years to go back, we have been missing some excellent Spidini. Garozzo’s has just move up a few notches on our restaurant rotation list!

I was there yesterday with a group from work for lunch. It took a long time for our food to be served and forever to get our bills so we could go back to work. What should have been an hour event was close to 2 hours by the time we got out of there. The food was very good… but the service… not so much.

I have been to this Garozzo’s about a dozen times for brunch and an occasional dinner. I have never done a review on this particular location. The atmosphere is quiet with a hint of 30’s music in the background. The lighting is calming. They serve a brunch on Sunday’s. You can either order from the menu or eat the buffet. They serve delicious items on the buffet. I like the biscuits and gravy and French toast. They also serve non breakfast items on the buffet. Pastas, salads, and appetizers. They have a fresh fruit and dessert table. The menu offers Italian fare like pasta, salad, and restaurant specialities like the various spiedini’s. This visit was like my other visits no problems. Service is always excellent along with food quality. This Garozzo’s is usually slower than the downtown location. P. s. If you go on your birthday you can get a free chicken spiedini.

Decided to try this location for a change. We usually go to the downtown location and have never been disappointed. Our Server was excellent coming by the table occasionally to ask how we were doing, filling our drink glasses before we needed to ask. The food, however left a lot to be desired. The bread that they served was tasteless and was not the typical Italian bread that we see in Italian restaurants. No sesame seeds and the texture was way off. Our salads were saturated with Italian dressing and cheese. I ordered the chicken spedini with the crushed tomatoes, spinach and angel hair pasta. It was a huge portion but the pasta was very watery and, therefore distorted the taste of the sauce. My husband had Diablo Peschi and it was also watery. Do not think that we will be returning to that location.

My wife and I just celebrated out 5th anniversary and decided to go to Garozzos for dinner. This is our second visit to the Lees Summit location. We liked our first visit and this time didn’t not disappoint. The place is nice moderately upscale with great lighting and calming décor. Space is good and service is good. We are eaters and love to try places all over the USA. I like to think I can speak from years of experience what sets good from great. We started with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and a Caesar salad. Both were standard fair for this type of place. Real Caesar salad! House made bread was good with a nice chew. My wife ordered Tortellini Gina and I had the Veal Raviolis with a Marsala sauce. Food came promptly and portions were more than enough. My dish was very tender and cooked perfect. The Ravioli was a great balance of savory with slight hint of sweetness from the Marsala sauce. It was topped with a veggie medley of peppers onions and mushrooms. Flavor was good. My wife’s dish was PHENOMENAL!!! If you love Alfredo this is the best I have ever had. The dish is huge packed with handmade stuffed noodles. Each noodle was filled with prosciutto and chicken a perfect compliment of salty and savory. The sauce was accompanied by fresh peas and portobello mushrooms swimming throughout the creamy Alfredo. I’m not exaggerating it really was that good! Just a truly satisfying dish leaving you wiping the plate clean with the bread. They have a huge menu so lots of exploring left to do. Go here and you will have a great dinner experience for a reasonable price.

I would rather eat at Fazoli’s. The food at Garozzo’s is not much better and ridiculously expensive. Many of the staff have a superior or unfriendly attitude.

My wife and I have had a 10+ year tradition of ordering takeout from Garozzo’s on Valentine’s Day. I called this year and they said they are not taking to go orders. Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience, whomever answered the phone was rude and dismissive. Had she been courteous and polite, I probably could have been a bit more understanding. For people with kids who cannot always get a babysitter, this is very disappointing. I guess my wife and I will have to start a new tradition. Honestly, it is probably a good thing as when I came in last year, your bartender acted like it was an inconvenience to help me with my order and take my money(and her tip). Arrivederci Garozzo’s! We will not be back.

I love it here. I don’t have a favorite dish because I switch every few months. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food is delicious.

This is a 4 star review mostly because Garozzos represents the best we can get on this side of the state. If you have ever been to The Hill in St. Louis you will call me crazy for anything more than 2 stars. Here me out. Yes, it is ridicously overpriced. Insultingly overpriced, but it very good. Very good. And when compared to what else is around, well this is what you get when you have no real competition. All the dishes are monstrous, so at least most people will get two meals for the price. The service has always been excellent every time we have been. We stick to weeknights, not sure if that makes a difference. We also tend to order off menu because they took our favorite dish away. this causes no problem for them, a sign of a good restaurant. But then you get to the price… time to be honest, changing the review to 3 stars. sorry, as much as I love the food cannot recomend that strongly at these prices.

Had a groupon for Garozzo’s — I went to their Sunday brunch. Food is always good. The wine I chose was good too. All was soured when my server saw the cash on the table and apparently felt entitled to a very large tip(way over 20%) took the money, said thanks and left. 1. It was a buffet so there wouldn’t have been anything wrong with less than a 20% tip. 2. She really didn’t even check after I got my food to see if everything was okay. 3. Her sense of entitlement was really ridiculous. To expect a guest to have to say, «excuse me but I would like my change was both greedy and tacky. Servers– Always, ALWAYS tell your guest you will be back with their change. IF they tell you to keep it or indicate the rest is yours, fine. Even asking if they would like or ‘need’ change is pushing it. But to just take it, leave, and not come back is inexcusable.

When I asked people about local italian, to a person, everyone recommended Garozzo’s. My fiancée and I made plans and decided to visit. We got in before any large crowds and were seated immediately. There were a couple of parties, one upstairs and one in another room. So, for the most part, we had a quiet meal. We did feel a bit under dressed for the occasion, wearing t-shirts and jeans. Anyway, we ordered the toasted ravioli for an appetizer. We got the combination of meat and cheese raviolis. They were very nice, but the bread and butter was also really good too. I got my usual, fettuccine alfredo with chicken. My fiancée got the chicken spedini samantha. This was great! The food was plentiful and tasty. We even asked about the party rooms with our upcoming nuptials, we thought this would be a nice place for the reception. The wait staff was very helpful and kind. The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is the price. This was easily the most expensive dinner for 2 I have ever had. 1 appetizer, 2 sodas, and 2 entrees was over $ 80. Ouch! The good thing though is that the meal was so plentiful, we took home more than we ate, and we both ate our fill. TL;DR It’s good, but pricey.

15 years ago we had our wedding reception at the Garozzo’s on 40 highway. It was amazing. Tonight we did not relive that experience. The Lee’s Summit restaurant has the ambiance of a basement. The waiter had the sincerity of an elevator operator. The food was ok, but not as I remembered from the«old days» The price made me feel like I was back in Los Angeles. Oh well. «When I was 42. It was a very good year…»

This review is for the Sunday brunch buffet at Garozzo’s in Lee’s Summit(the only location that offers brunch). My mother-in-law organized reservations at Garozzo’s for their Easter Sunday brunch buffet for our family. Though she made reservations over the phone several days prior they did not have her reservation when we arrived. We were able to be seated anyways because we were there before church let out(Heathens). Brunch was served upstairs instead of the normal dining area. This was a large banquet room with low ceilings and blinds drawn. This made for a dim breakfast despite the sunshine outside. Frank Sinatra was playing loudly, so loud we had to pause our conversations to laugh because we were struggling to speak over him. Also, some of the songs were Christmas songs. Yup. Sleigh bells & all. The buffet was large but very disappointing. It had the normal brunch selection of breakfast foods, lunch/dinner foods with some fresh fruit & desserts. They did have pancakes which was my husband’s main concern(he LOVES pancakes). The food was mediocre at best. Not much fresh, clean food for those that like to eat healthy. I grabbed the lox but it had a very strange chemical smell that my family could detect as well. I ate fresh fruit & some scrambled eggs. The rest of my family ate plentiful but then commented afterwards that the food was just OK. My hubby & I aren’t fans of buffets because a lot of the flavoring is lost when food is mass produced. Out of the seven of us, four family members had upset stomachs within an hour after eating. I don’t know if this is from overeating at a buffet(they had several platefuls) or due to the quality of food. The wait staff was so bored due to being overstaffed. We were asked every 5 minutes if we wanted more water or coffee. Several times manager-looking guys came over to check on us. One waiter asked us if we were«regular» which caused our table to crack up. Even though he was asking about our coffee I’d like to think he also had some concern with our bowel movements. Foreshadowing much? By the time we left the church crowd was streaming in, standing around, waiting to be seated. I wanted to tell them to go somewhere else but that would have been tacky. The worst part about the buffet? It cost $ 16.99 per adult. My mother-in-law foot the bill and with tip our total was $ 218. I’m in pain. That’s horrible. Afterwards we stood in the parking lot saying our goodbyes. We all stood around like dazed zombies. Everyone agreed not to go back. We’re going to continue to try to meet up every other Sunday for breakfast but we’re going to stick with breakfast places where the food is made to order. Buffet goers will like Garozzo’s brunch buffet, I’m sure. But if you’re like me — love good, fresh food & bright atmosphere — skip Garozzo’s brunch & save your money for high quality, good for you food.
