This is where you go to pick up your Conceal and carry card. It’s also where 911 rings to. In this little office are 2 front people. The process for conceal and carry, is this: Make the appointment, which is about 1 month behind. Then go to your appointment to begin your background check. They finger print you with a scanner, and send in your background to the FBI. It takes about 30 minutes at the office, then a 45 day wait. While I was waiting, I heard an ear full about the 911 calls coming through. Ridiculous some of them. I’d never want the job of 911 dispatcher. I’d go nuts listening to the intolerable buzzing from the phone for 12 hours. If you click on the website, it says it closes at 7:30, but my appointment was at 8:00 p.m. I had to call and confirm cause their closing time confused me. It is difficult to reach the sheriff office by phone. Right now they are located just off of Woods Chapel Road, down a winding road, to a gravel road, but they are moving to a building on 291. When they are moved, I will update my review. They are moving in January, should be before I go and pick up my card. Behind the building are a few tanks, and military vehicles. The building itself is larger than it looks, plus there’s another building on the grounds. Out of the way and needs updated. Glad they are moving to a better building. But the people are very nice.
