Randy was great at fitting us into his schedule and doing a thorough job. Even though I had started the job myself, Randy stepped in and saved the project. We will definitely call RCE for all future electrical jobs both inside and out.

So frustrated with RCE — Energy, Lighting, Technology. I scheduled the service through Amazon and it was confirmed. I made arrangements for my tenants be home. They waited the entire day. I called the company several times, no answer. I left 3-messages. I called Amazon and they also had no luck reaching the company. 2-days later I received an email that said it was outside of the install area. My home is only 15 –minutes from his location. He should have never accepted the appointment in the first place. They missed an entire day of work waiting and he never even called to explain!

Randy did an outstanding job mounting my 40″ Samsung and sound bar. He was on time, helpful and fast. He even helped me to understand some of the new technology I’d purchased which undoubtedly saved me a few hours. I can recommend him without hesitation. Very professional.

I had some ceiling fan lights with remote wall switches in different rooms that were interfering with each other, and I wanted to install some new Z wave light switches and wall outlets. I was also considering replacing the ceiling fans since I had seen some inexpensive ones available on . On I saw that a handyman was available in the KC area for installing ceiling fans and light switches, etc, for an initial site visit fee of $ 135.00. I decided to pay through and check this guy out. I could always use another good handyman resource. The process for scheduling an appointment through was fairly easy. Amazon showed me a calendar of possible time slots when RCE would be available during the upcoming week, and I was able to choose 1st preference, 2nd preference, 3rd preference for times. Randy of RCE texted me the following Monday morning(a bit by surprise) that he was coming over because one of his other jobs canceled.(I hadn’t received a confirmation of any appointment time prior to that, so I wasn’t expecting him, but everything turned out fine.) Randy is friendly and reliable and definitely knows his stuff for residential electrical systems. He counseled me to keep the ceiling fans I have and just switch out the wall remote controllers because the ceiling fans I have are better quality than the new Westinghouse ones I bought from amazon.(So I’m returning the ceiling fans to amazon.) He was able to fix the problem of the ceiling fan light in the bedroom turning on the ceiling fan light in the other bedroom. However, after he left, we noticed that now the ceiling fan light in the kitchen was turning on the ceiling fan light in the bedroom. Randy did come back and fix that problem on another day. I have an old house from the 1870s. By some miracle, Randy was able to get those big Z wave outlet boxes to fit in the compact electrical boxes at my house. It just so happened I had a plumber trying to install a new dishwasher at the same time, and he was missing the needed electrical outlet for the dishwasher under the sink … thankfully Randy was there and got us a brand new outlet set up where needed. Randy helped me trouble-shoot various things at the house, like light switches that we couldn’t figure out what they controlled, etc. Some of the Z wave light switches could not be installed because the house wiring was missing the neutral wire. But Randy helped me come up with alternate solutions for the Z wave network. We were even thinking of installing new electrical wiring that would reach to a new flood light on the exterior over the garage door, which could be controlled by a motion sensor. That would have been pretty slick! Randy had it all figured out, and I’m sure he would have done an excellent job! But for the time being, I decided to try a simple battery-powered motion sensor light and see how that works. In summary, you’ll be in good hands with Randy. He’s an excellent electrician, but bear in mind that his rates are not cheap. It’s $ 135 for the site visit(first hour) and $ 85 per hour after that. However, you get what you pay, for right? With Randy, I feel sure that things are done right, or if not, he will come back and fix it.
