Good ice cream, efficient service, timely location, but service is meh: The have so many flavors it’s ridiculously frustrating! In a good way, that is… you want everything! The flavors change a lot, so each season at least, you can try something new: cookies n cream, pecan praline, superman, muddy shoes, coffee, peanut butter and pretzel, brownie batter, orange sherbet, etc.; waffle cone, regular cone, or bowls. Long lines in season, but the wait isn’t bad at all. They crankem’ out! Conveniently located feet from the canoe/kayak/tubing center. Expected, but kind of annoying: expect high school or college freshman to give their version of customer service… none at all.

HUGE ice cream cones! Over 20 varieties of Hershey’s ice cream and if you’re not sure what flavor you want… ask for a sample! Very friendly employees. I will be back!

They had good flavors, and they were polite. What really sets them apart though is that they served me a ton of ice cream at a low price. If you’ve ever been frustrated by measley portions for high prices you’ll be pleased.

The Cooksburg Café is a cool little Ice Cream/Sandwich shop right along the Clarion River in Beautiful Cook Forest State Park. They serve Hershey’s ice cream which is not the best Ice Cream by any means, but the atmosphere more than makes up for it. The Café has a few small tables with umbrellas as well as a large covered outdoor seating area to enjoy your treats. The café is located next to the Pale Whale canoe Company who rents canoes for your trip down the Clarion River. This is a great place to grab an Ice Cream after your scenic canoe trip. Overall a great place for family’s to stop, and get a treat while in Cook Forest State Park.
