Needed to replace my 20 yr old AC and heater. Retired and on a limited budget all I wanted/needed was to replace my units with something I could afford… but didn’t want to go with a cheap brand. My furnace(Lennex) had an AFC sticker, I thought — AFC installed this unit 20 yrs ago so I called for a quote, they were at my house in 2 hours. AFC gave me a quote on a Trane that blew me away. I called two other vendors that I’ve seen advertise on TV(Bob Hamilton & Anthony’s) to get quotes — couldn’t get some out to my home for 2 or 3 days for a quote. Both quotes were over $ 1000 what AFC would cost me(for the same unit). Needless to say I went with AFC. AFC did my install the next day. They took 4 hours to install and left my home and yard clean. I’m 62yrs old and I’m not one to write reviews — but this was the BEST customer service and support that I have ever received from a vendor. AFC never tried to sell me anything that I didn’t need or want. They explained everything to me in a way that I understood. The folks at AFC truly care about their customers. LOVE these guys!!!

I’m sure others have had a good experience but I didn’t. Don’t use this company! I had a serviceman out to look at my furnace which wasn’t working. The furnace is about 3 ½ years old. The employee came to my home and was there less than 10 minutes. Apparently a wire wasn’t connected properly. As the employee was leaving he said have a good day and I asked what I owed him and he said«Don’t worry about it.» I asked if he was sure and he said«Yep» A week later I receive a bill for $ 85. I called and spoke to Phil the owner. I explained the situation and what his employee said and he responded by saying that his employee was wrong and I owed $ 85. I told him I didn’t think that was right to charge someone when their employee said I didn’t owe anything. Phil said that the employee shouldn’t have said that. Long conversations short, I told Phil i was going to complain to and Unilocal,I also complained on Angieslist and Phil says he’s going to send me to collections. It’s not right that the company won’t back what the employee is telling customers. It’s no different then I go into their store and proceed to purchase an item but the employee tells me don’t worry about it. Then they send me a bill later for that item. Legally there’s a bit of liability there, possibly deceptive billing practices, the employee by saying«Don’t worry about it» when asked what I owed, closed out the verbal contract I had with them for services. I felt Phil was rude and I’m sure he felt the same about me, but how would you feel if you were told you didn’t owe anything and then received a bill? Don’t use this company, you can’t trust what they are telling you!

AFC has serviced our furnace and air conditioner for the past 8 years. The previous company we used tried to sell us a new furnace every time they came out for our seasonal maintenance. We never have that experience with AFC. We have needed one repair(in addition to regular seasonal maint.) in 8 years and, although not cheap – I felt the price was fair and above all, they were honest about what needed fixing and I never felt that they are upselling me.

My retail shop lost heat on coldest day of the year. AFC scheduled technician arrived within 24 hours. Tricky problem brought 2nd visit by manager to finish the job. Dispatcher good about phoning with updates.
