As far as I’m concerned the king of convenience in KC is Quiktrip but right outside Lee’s Summit at 50&7 is a place called Gibson’s General Store. Very clean and well stocked with a lot of extras. It has a full kitchen with breakfast lunch and dinner items. They even have barbecue that’s definitely not the worst I ever ate. Fried chicken tacos and the gamut of tried appetizers. Even some decent looking salads. They also have fresh baked goods cookies, banana bread, candies like peanut brittle and chocolate. Don’t get me wrong this isn’t gourmet food but were talking much better than you would think. The usual stuff rounds out the convenience store experience, liquor, bread, ice and fountain drinks. If your stopping on the way to the lake you could pick up some last minute items and get some gas. Very clean store and nice people.
