Best Western Plus Chain Of Lakes Inn & Suites

It’s a basic chain hotel but in Leesburg that almost makes this a 5 star palace. My rooms were spotless both times I stayed here and the front desk was always helpful. The gym equipment was clean and in working order and the breakfast selection was fine. Look on Priceline for a better deal than the front desk offers and you should be fine.

VERY clean room. I enjoyed the fact that the maid staff only interrupted if we needed something. Breakfast was decent, coffee was excellent. Smoking amenities both at the pool and outside the front door. We enjoyed our stay, there were no extra charges above and beyond what we expected (taxes, etc.. .). Location was central to The Villages (far enough away to where we didn’t have to visit my father TOO much), yet provided much within the area (Ramshackle Café and Oakwood Smokehouse, just to name two). Oh, and my 12 year old daughter said to tell everybody she loved it! Thanks to the staff for a wonderful stay!

I sit here in my room stunned at the rate that they made me pay for tonight’s stay.
First, let me tell you that if I booked via the Best Western web site RIGHT NOW I could get this very room for $ 79. They charged me $ 114 at the front desk tonight.
OK, it’s a little more complicated than that. I originally booked for 3 nights and the weekend nights (tomorrow and the day after) are more expensive. Tonight was the «cheap» night, and my blended rate for all 3 nights was $ 114/​night.
When I checked in I told them that I only want to stay tonight, and asked them to please cancel my reservation for tomorrow and the next night. This is within their cancellation policy so no worries, right?
WRONG! They are still making me pay the «blended rate» for tonight. The room to the right of me is paying $ 79; the guy across the hall is paying $ 79; the room to the left of me is paying $ 79. I’m stuck with a $ 114 bill because, well, I don’t know. Maybe I didn’t play the system right.
Awful customer relations. And p. s. I owned a Vermont Country Inn for 15 years and NEVER pulled this kind of rate crap on a guest.
7:30 AM Update. I was told last night that there was nothing the desk personnel could do, and to check back with the manager who would be in at 6AM.
I went to the desk and was told (in the exact wording, telling me they hear this a lot) that there is nothing they could do and to check with the manager who will be in at noon.
I told them that I am tired of trying to speak to a manager who never seems to be around, and that my 1-​star Unilocal review just happens to be the only review for their property. I left contact information and asked for a manager to call me.

Slow internet (I hate slow internet almost as much as I hate an empty fridge) but everything else is lovely. Leesburg is not the nicest city in the world. Has a lot of shabby motels. The Best Western is the only nice hotel in the area so if you are visitng or passing through I highly recommend it. Very clean, modern rooms. Flat screen TV’s. Mini fridge and microwaves in every room. Water heats up quickly. Excellent continental breakfast serving both hot and cold items. Friendly staff. They also have a gym. Restaurant located in the same plaza directly in front of it — literally only a 20 foot walk.
