Potomac River Running

I absolutely love this store. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking to purchase running shoes, cross training & etc. You won’t be disappointed.

Hubby and I visited this store on Saturday and had a great experience, Helen was knowledgable and she listened to my situation and was able to match me with the right shoe the «Mizuno Wave Rider», I’ve never owned a pair but I bought my first one and I am pleased. I also purchased these Nike tights and I love them. She then helped my hubby and was able to also find the perfect fit for him. The other 2 employees that were there on Saturday were also nice. We will definitely shop here again for our next pair of sneakers.

Guess I am the lone wolf with regards to exceptional staff. The woman I started working with (long strawberry blonde hair) started out friendly but I was directing her to two types of shoes… one version of saucony I currently wear and a newer model. She measured my feet, brought out both styles and let me walk around. I was all set to purchase when I asked about a mi, Italy discount. Her response, «are you active duty?» I replied no but my husband was retired. Her disrespectful retort, «well if we gave discounts to retired military, we would be giving discounts to everyone!» WOW! My husband served for 20 years, 11 months and 3 days and you have the audacity to make such a flipent comment.
As soon as I told her I wanted to check with my doctor and wasn’t buying the shoe, she turned ice cold. Guess you not only loss your commission but our business.
I will NEVER step foot inside your store.

Currently training for my first half marathon. The staff was so helpful! They fitted me and helped me select a shoe that bested fitted my type of running after identifying my running style on a treadmill. They let me run around the store so that i could pick out the shoe that i felt best suited me. Overall, great experience, will definitely be back!

The staff is incredible! They took the time to review my gait and suggested several pairs of shoes… no only that, but they gave me advice on ways to improve my running form and even showed me stretching techniques… these guys are the experts!

I absolutely love this store. They have a Fantastic staff that is ready and willing to help you with all things running. Great selection and reasonable prices. Each time I’ve wanted to try an new brand of running shoe, the staff was so helpful, even letting me run around the block in each shoe to see how it feels. Highly recommend for new and seasoned runners alike.

Very nice store in the village market shops in Leesburg (I love this area!) They were able to fit me and give me several options of shoes to try on. We went on a Friday night and they were busy but still took the time to help me out. I will definitely return!

This is well worth the trip. Their fitting process is incredibly detailed. You step on an electronic sensor and you see a color display of where your stance puts pressure on your feet. Next, you put on a test pair of shoes that you wear on a treadmill while a video camera shows you how you walk and run. They look at your ankles and foot direction. When complete, they bring out several pair of shoes from several different Manufacturers.
I found out for the past several years, I have been wearing shoes too wide and too short. There was a different feel between manufacturers.
The shoes I bought have been the best feeling shoes I have ever had. I will definitely return for my next pair!

Their selection is good. I come here for running-​related items I can’t find elsewhere.

Just purchased a new set of shoes after years of running in an old pair. The folks were patient and thorough, and helped me find the right shoes for my running style. I like the high-​tech analysis and opportunity to try out the shoes on their treadmill. Great value for the product and service.

I stopped in here for packet pickup for the Leesburg 20K this weekend — the shop is stocked with great brands and a friendly staff :)

The staff in the PR stores are wonderful. They have always taken the time to more than fully answer my questions no matter what stage my running was at. I am by no means a pro but when I first went there I had yet to run a 5K and now I am training for my 3^rd marathon. With a variety of other races in between.
They support and run a number of races in multiple communities which is great because they are very involved with where their customers are training and racing.
They hav a variety of training programs for all levels and they also offer weekly free fun runs which I have found to be very helpful.
I have always trained alone and the fun runs have been a great way for me to branch out and meet other runners and to motivate myself to push harder in my training.
All in all Potomac River has it all. Good products, good staff, good community involvement and all while making it fun.
What more could you ask for?

They were great. New to running and they took the time to fit me for shoes using a couple easy steps. The shoes they recommended worked out great and they didn’t try an steer me to the expensive ones. Ended up taking my husband later and he had same good experience.

I have to disagree with the previous reviewer. Every single time I come to ANY of the PRR stores they never take me seriously (probably because I look young).

Great customer service! Fairly good selection of shoes — my favorites aren’t made any longer, but they were able to help me find a pair that should work. Excellent for people who say that they will never be able to run due to shin splints or knee problems. That was my mantra 4 years ago, but having knowledgeable people analyze my gait and get me into the right shoes now has me running half-​marathons.
