I live in The Lakes next door to Publix. The Pharmacy is great and customer service is friendly and fantastic. I shop at least three times weekly. They have a great individual that provides a cooking demo several times a week, The store is well stocked. I am use to food lion in the North that I frequent and Publix is on Par with them. The only reason they did not earn a five star was because of their limited selections. As a retired person I do not drive much. I depend on my golf kart to go shopping like many seniors in the Lakes. Seniors try them you will like them and the Mall next door.

I never go into Publix without being greeted Today, five employees took the time to say good morning. Sure, you pay a little more, but you get you money’s worth in a sparkling clean store and fantastic employees. As a bonus, they had fresh mince pie today!

I’ve shopped this Publix location since it opened. Recently, the store went through some massive downsizing. They no longer carry the amount of products they used to. Many items are now no longer on their shelves. They have reduced stock to the most popular basic items only. I’m disappointed. If you need specialty items or something unusual, it’s best to shop at a larger Publix. Mt. Dora has a larger selection or Orlando Publix stores.

Sometimes I forget when I’m back in the Southeast at lunch time how great the Publix subs are. Don’t get me wrong — we have Harris Teeter in the Charlotte area and HT makes some great subs. But I think Publix is a step above. So today for lunch, after reviewing the other options along this stretch of 441, Publix became the top contender. Not much of a line for subs at 1:00PM so I was helped almost immediately. I chose the full-size«Ultimate» on a dark bread that looked almost like Pumpernickel. All the way with turkey, ham and roast beef, then add Swiss cheese *cough* Boars head! *cough* and a little spicy brown mustard and some veggies. What a meal! I don’t know why I got the full size because half of it stayed in the wrapper and went back to the hotel room. Simply delicious. Nice and clean and bright, I like this Publix. I can’t wait until they open their shops in the Charlotte area closer to me and give HT a run for the money!

For whatever reason this Publix seems to have more problems with freshness and quality than others I’ve shopped at. I noticed the use by date on some yogurt was only two days away. When I asked if he had any fresher he said no, and that one wasn’t a very good seller. Some lettuce I got today had a use by date in 2 days but was already slimy. Their fried chicken is just not as good and fresh, neither is the produce. Try others in the area… you’ll be happier.

Love this place! Publix sometimes gets the rep of being a bit expensive at times but I find the prices extremely competitive… even to the closest Walmart. Staff is helpful and friendly. My favorite department? Deli! Also try Publix own gourmet ice cream. It’s worth it!

The best aspect of this Publix is its convenient location.
