Visionworks Doctors of Optometry

I went back a few days later and a different employee helped me. She was very helpful: called the store out of state to have them process the return, had them fax the return receipt so I could get a copy. A much improved experience!

This store needs management to prioritize their customer service. Even if short staffed, they need to make sure people who come in are attended on a first come first serve basis and not kept waiting while they attend phone calls to help those customers rather than those who have been waiting for ½ hour. I walked out after 2 times informing them I was ready when they had a chance to attend to me. Rude!

My daughter got her first contacts here. The first fitting ended up with the wrong prescription, so I had to take her back to try again. You need to make an appointment. The doctor seemed to know what he was doing, but was quite distant and detached, he completely ignored me and was a bit rude when I asked a question. Very nice store in the nice but crowded Wegmans town center.
I don’t think that the wall vision test was valid as the lighting was terrible, not sure why he used that instead of the much better lighting in the adjacent hallway. I tested myself while waiting and was barely ²⁰⁄₂₀ in the dark room, but was accurately ²⁰⁄₁₅ in the hall.

Just found out that my daughter has got to miss school to take a first time contact user «class» before actually receiving her prescription. I have no problem with the optometrist teaching her how to put them in and take them out properly. However, I do have a problem with the timing of the «class». It is only offered M-​F, 12−3pm. What a terrible inconvenience. We chose this location because it is open on both Saturday and Sunday. We had no idea until after her exam that they required a «class» during the middle of the work/​school day. Unfortunately, in order to take the «class» my wife or I now have to take off a ½ day of work AND my daughter has to miss a ½ day of school. We will definitely be looking for a different optometrist.

Most incompetent office staff you’ll meet. Appts booked incorrectly, an inability to communicate and sadly just. .dumb? Sorry but true. I haven’t seen the Dr I was supposed to see because of the dumb staff. Even when they know there is going to be another Dr filing in and I’m supposed to see the practice dr… they still book it wrong. The lady who filled in yesterday for his days of strolled into the office at 10:07 for my 10:00 appt. Just casually said. «Hi». No apologies about being so late as she booted up her computer and looked for my records. However there was plenty of talk about how the staff messed up the booking of my appt and they did it completely wrong. Considering she didn’t even own her own blasé attitude about strolling in whenever the hell she felt like. .she’s just as bad as the dumb staff. If you have a 10 am appt… you show up to work early enough to prepare for an on time appt. This arrogance and unaccountibility is what destroys the timings of everyone’s appts.

They got me in at the last minute because I was going out of town. Super helpful, very nice staff and VERRY GOOD prices (I don’t have vision insurance). This will be my go to place for now on.

Terrible! The staff is RUDE and does not care if they have your business or not. When I said I would take my business elsewhere because the manager was interrupting me while I was speaking she LAUGHED.
There are TONS of other eye doctors around. No need to waste your time and money here.

We spent an hour at Visionworks — formerly known as Hour Eyes. We were walk-​ins and I had done my homework and had coupons and offers shown on their website in hand. Believe it or not as soon as we got there and had chosen frames we were told that the offer (s) was no longer available — old fashioned bait and switch if you ask me. So we went with one pair for another «deal» and only after 3 or 4 attempts to input the correct information was the order placed. We were told that there was a 90% chance the order would be ready today. Well, we just got a call saying that the glasses did not pass inspection and will be ready tomorrow… we’ll see, I am not confident that this is going to turn out well. End result — don’t waste your time or money. Next time I will go back to Warby Parker — great glasses at a reasonable price and I don’t waste my time sitting around waiting for someone competent to assist me. If I could they’d rate a 0.
