Lehigh’s Daily Grind

Closed for good. So 0 out of 5. Went there for lunch since it had a good write up. Close to where we were staying, so that would have been nice. If I could give a zero I would. It must not have been as good as they said.

Ordered two salads to go at the Daily Grind in Lehigh Acres, Fl. Talk about fresh and delicious! I got the cheeseburger salad. a huge, deliciously fresh garden salad with all kinds of greens, tomatoes, hard boiled eggs, cheese, cucumbers topped with a freshly ground beef cheeseburger. I got bleu cheese dressing, homemade. My husband got the granny smith salad: various greens, chicken, granny smith apples, nuts and craisins with a balsamic dressing. Again, delicious The salads were unbelievably large, fresh and made with care. Their breakfast and lunch menu looks so good I want to try everything. They also have a bakery with freshly made cookies, breads and cakes. I believe their sandwiches are all made with homemade bread. We will be eating there often.

Our second visit here, after the first experience was less than enjoyable. BUT, we were willing to give it another try. Here goes!
Only a single table already seated when we walked in. Granted, it was a 9-​top, but still…
It was readily apparent that the 9-​top had already ordered, and they already had empty glasses and coffee cups. Uh oh.
It took a long time for the singular waitress to get back to us after we were seated. It took even longer for her to bring our drinks, and even longer to receive our food. Over an hour before our food met the table. And, it was cold!
My biscuit had some hard bits on it, as if it weren’t fresh. Maybe it was made the night before, I don’t know. I was so hungry that I didn’t complain, I just ate it, but wasn’t happy about it. Drink refills were rare, and I ended up having to share my beverage.
Our food even came out before the 9-top’s food, and there were some harsh glances in our general direction. I don’t blame them. They were waiting for sooo long!
A few things were clear: It’s clear that the restaurant has no knowledgeable leadership and no system in place for getting fresh food out quickly. It was also clear that the first bad experience was no fluke.
We agreed that this will be our last trip here.

Clean, friendly service, food with flavor. It’s been a while since I’ve had really good potatoes. This place is great.

To start,
Dirty seats, no spoon for my coffee. Despite being empty… slow service. Home fries undercooked. Server asked me if I wanted a coffee refill while filling the cup back up, nice but I didn’t want a refill. If she had asked before I could have said no. Breakfast overpriced. Won’t be back again.

Good food and nice décor. Unilocal directions were abominable, needs fixing. We weren’t from the area, so we relied on Unilocal which took us to frustration. We even called twice but it didn’t help. Restaurant is tucked behind.

I really enjoyed lunch today with a couple of friends here.
They have nice lunch specials and a very good looking breakfast menu.
In short, nice place, great menu, and excellent service. A little hidden gem in L.A.
