Evolution Revolution Photography

I am never comfortable in front of the camera and the result is that I don’t have any good pictures of me to post on facebook and such. So I saw a friend’s pics on facebook that looked great and were professionally done. I inquired and found out that they were done by Janet, the owner of Evo Revo Photography.
Contacted her and she asked for a meeting to discuss what I needed and what she would need from me to make the shoot good. She asked me about possible locations, my hobbies, adjectives that describe me etc. to get an idea of who I am, where to shoot, and what to wear! Having never done this and not expecting these questions, I did not know any of the answers. She told me to think about those and we left it at that. I started thinking that this is much harder than it looks. Finally, after a 2 – 3 months gap where I was basically deciding if I really need to do this, I just decided to go for it and answer the questions as best I could. And thank science I did it!
After answering, we decided the date and location and I met up with her and her assistant Chad.
The photo shoot was awesome. I have zero experience in this type of thing and had no idea how to pose etc. Janet was very helpful and suggestive without being over bearing and dictatorial. She never even told me to «smile», just made funny remarks which got me smiling and laughing as she clicked away. Her demeanor and the chemistry between her and Chad made me feel very comfortable. Can’t imagine how at one point I managed to be up on a tree in a park in the middle of Culver City being photographed! I never saw myself doing that.
Janet is definitely a five-​star photographer. If you have never done this before, trust her and just do the things that she tells you and it will be worth it. Remember that good photos are a result of work from both you and the photographer. So unless you put in a little bit of work in thinking about what type of personality you want to project in the photos, it will not work as well. Janet does a great job of making it as smooth as possible with her helpful suggestions, friendly demeanor and stellar photography skills!
She is also very professional with follow-​ups emails, phone calls etc. Just got the pics and I love them!
