Excellent restaurant !!! The owners are super nice, food is incredibly delicious. I haven’t had falafel in a long time & this was amazing. Baklava is to die for. I would definitely try this place. You will not be sorry.

I’m not a huge Mediterranean fan, but the salad with feta was delicious. The hummus was OK.

After passing by the place many time I was having the type of night were I just wanted to try something different. My girlfriend of course wanted to go to her favorite place a restaurant called«I don’t care» so we ended up at Gusto Grille. After having a look over the menu and not really recognizing anything familiar(this was my first turkish food experience) I asked the waitress/owner on her opinion and so did my gf. She insisted that we shouldn’t get the appetizer because it would take too long and be out after our food. I find that kind of honest rewarding. She also told my gf that she would need no app as the entrée was too big to finish…(She doesn’t know Lauren, a 110lb bottomless pit(makes no sense I know))… Anyway I can’t remember what either of us got, but I know the salad was good and both of us were very pleased with our entrée and especially the service I found it to be very kind. I am not sure about these 1 star reviews, doubtful they were respectful customers at the very least. Give it a shot, these people have never owned a restaurant and are making a go of it, and for that my hat is off to them.

My boyfriend and I had a terrible experience here at lunch. We had a pleasant enough meal. The food was decent and the woman that served us was wonderful. We had won 3 $ 10 gift certificates in a raffle at a local community event and when the bill came, we asked if we could use them towards our meal. The woman told us that we couldn’t use them all at once. No problem. Within a couple of minutes, the male owner/cook came out from the kitchen and began yelling at us in front of other customers. He said that we were looking for a free meal and we had no common sense trying to use more than one gift certificate at a time. This went on for around 10 minutes, during which my boyfriend told the owner that he could keep the gift certificates and we would pay for the meal in full. We are both a bit shocked by what happened at this restaurant. For one, we had no issue with using one gift certificate at a time, though the only constituent stated on the gift certificate was that it couldn’t go towards alcohol sales. These were not coupons cut from a magazine or a coupon book… they were gift certificates provided by the owner. As someone who has worked in restaurants, I would never have expected we could use three coupons in the same visit. With that said, we still asked what we could use. And second, don’t give out gift certificates if you don’t want people to use them. After reading other reviews, I see that this isn’t the first time that a customer has had a hostile encounter with this owner. It’s unfortunate that this owner feels it’s at all okay to treat his customers in this way.

Yummmmm. Took us close to closing and stayed on the phone until we found the place. Enjoyed the food and enjoyed chatting with owners and recommendations. Will be regulars this winter.

Three times I have tried to use the gift certificates that I purchased from WWAYtv thursday deals. First time, when we came in the waitress told us the door should have been locked because they were serving a 15 person group, although this was lunchtime and there were plenty of tables open… the next couple that came in were told that the restaurant was closed. Then we were told it would take a long time to get our food, when asked how long, no one seemed to know. The second time we tried at 4:45pm and realized that the restaurant closes between 2 – 5. The third and our LAST time was today. We were told we could not use the gift certificate because they had a $ 7.00 special. I told the owner I would be glad to pay regular price just to use up the certificates we had been trying to use. I was nice, but the owner then lost his temper and told us that it was just he and his wife making $ 25.00 a week and it was only $ 7.00 a meal. At this point he was yelling at me in front of other customers. We went to another restaurant in the area and were told that many customers leave there after being rude to and come over to their place. It is a shame because I would have liked to try the food. Kindness goes a long way.

Good spot away from the madness when you don’t feel like waiting in wilmington. My wife and i have eaten here twice on Saturday night in Leland. The owner is always working in the kitchen and makes time to come out and speak to the guests. I like that they have have pictures of all the food to accompany the menu. I get the mixed grill kababs and baba with pita(which is excellent) Service is friendly.

Healthy choices, fresh food, welcoming owner, convenient location — what’s not to like? The menu has a nice variety of Turkish/Mediterranean options and they also have a menu with pictures if you are new to this cuisine. Give it a try. We will go back.

Went to this place twice. The first time we went they were closed on a Saturday night(needed a vacation). Decided to give it another try. Went with friends. All of us dissatisfied. Lb overlooked. Lentil soup horrible, more like navy bean soup, pita more like pre-made tortillas. Ate in there twice that night, first and last.

After being excited to go have Mediterranean food I was very disappointed. It’s hard to decide which was worse, the staff, the cold air filling the restaurant every time the door opens, minimal portion sizes for exorbitant prices, cold food, lack of seasonings, etc etc. needless to say we will not be going back!

I ordered a Gyro and it did not come with tzatziki sauce, and it came with french fries. The gyro was not that good. I asked the waitress to bring me some tzatziki sauce which makes a Gyro taste good. I may be spoiled because I traveled in Germany and I had many many good Gyros before. The place was empty and it was 12 o’clock for lunch time. I will not go back to this place but I think everyone should try it at least once to see if it’s to their liking

Very good. You can tell that they really care about their food. The owner brought us some semolina cake on the house for dessert.

Wow Kathy, maybe you should go to the restaurant and eat there before putting up a 1 star rating? You know some restaurants like Flaming Amy’s don’t even have a menu on their website! Oh and since you were on their website — you must have seen their«working hours»… This is the owner’s first attempt at the restaurant business and Gusto Grille has been here 2 months so cut them some slack. Came here for lunch today and it was a nice change from my normal lunch of PT’s, Smithfield’s or Harris Teeter Subs. The owner seems very friendly and the food is local/fresh. I had the gyro and baklava — reasonably priced. The gyro came with either fries or a side salad(I had the salad). The pita bread is apparently made at the restaurant. The baklava was amazing. I’ve never had it before but it was well worth getting dessert at lunch. Overall it was a good experience. Our waitress was very attentive and checked on us a few times to see if we were good for drinks etc… Might not be as good as some of the other gyro places in Wilmington but if you are in the area for lunch, I’d definitely check it out. Nothing wrong with supporting your local businesses!

Oopah! Gusto Grille was our choice for a quick lunch and it was a pleasant dining experience on a hot summer day. We were seated immediately and served drinks very quickly. The menu is simple but had a nice selection of Mediterranean and American foods. I ordered a Greek salad as did my stepdaughter and my stepson had a Philly Steak wrap. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The salads were wonderful with a variety of greens, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, onions and Feta cheese. They were served with a light lemon vinagrette dressing. The Philly steak wrap was good but my stepson reported it was bland and lacked any real pizazz. Overall it was a nice eating establishment but I would have liked more Mediterranean selections. The décor is nothing to write home about either.

When I visited, Gusto Grille had only been open a few months. It appears they’re still working out some of the kinks that come with being the new kid on the block. Service at this Turkish grill is super-friendly, but a little scattered. With an assist from the kitchen, our enthusiastic server Lauren was able to help me navigate the menu for gluten free options, but then she totally forgot to bring our stuffed grape leaves appetizer. We ended up taking it to go after finishing our lunches. The verdict: highly average. A little seasoning might have taken them from fine to fantastic. The lunch special was the cheeseburger on a pita. On Lauren’s recommendation, I opted for this instead of the Turkish meat patties, sans pita. Delivered with a side salad and topped with American cheese, these little mini-patties, or sliders, were tasty and delicious. I would have liked more variety in the salad, but the lettuce and tomato were fresh, and the house made dressing added flavor. My mom ordered the fish pita, but soon discovered they were out of fish. So she had the chicken pita with fries instead. She said it was good, but very messy, and ended up using a knife and fork. Be warned. You may need extra napkins. Hopefully, Gusto will improve the longer it’s open for business. They’ve definitely got a great customer service mindset, and like I mentioned before, very friendly and personable staff. I plan to give it another go on a return trip to Leland this fall.

We stopped in thinking it was the old 2 guys lunch place. We were pleasantly surprised that it was a Turkish place. The menu has traditional dishes you would expect with gyros. I had the philly styled gyro from the lunch menu which was awesome. They make their own pita bread that alone is miles beyond what you expect. I think this a great place to stop in for lunch. They have incredibly friendly staff and great authentic Turkish food. Take it from me I’m Greek and I had two Persians with me you really can’t ask for more if your in the area stop in you won’t regret it.
