Our family has a VERY old painting of our grandparents and it needed the utmost care when we had to ship it. Luckily we found Craters & Freighters to send this precious heirloom. They were very professional and thorough when they handled our cargo. The painting was received without a scratch. They specialize in all kinds of shipping. We are very happy all around with their service! Thanks Craters & Freighters!

The staff was courteous and on top of sending quotes and general communication. So I felt comfortable conducting business with them. I shipped expensive electronics, 300+ DVD’s and a vintage stereo cabinet & matching equipment that hold very high sentimental value. When we discussed insurance we agreed on $ 500. This would not cover everything«especially the sentimental aspect» but we agreed that that was a solid number and the assured me they took all precautions. Well $ 589 later they had possession of my belongings. They were shipped to central Florida. When I arrived after my road trip and I went to pick everything up from my friends house that it was delivered the cabinet was absolutely destroyed! Some of the stereo components are rattling around. It was simply bubble wrapped and nothing more. There were no fragile stickers. No other protection. I called very upset and they said don’t worry we will take care of it. Hours later I get an email from someone I have never talked too saying there was no insurance and that they encased it in foam and had fragile stickers. I was livid due to them long to me! I unwrapped it and ZERO protection and there were NO fragile stickers. Unfortunately I found the paper work today and they in fact put $ 0 for insurance. Unbelievable!!! I thought maybe they looked at the wrong paperwork but nope! I take fault for not looking over the paperwork before I left my items in their hands. I was under a lot of stress with the move and really kick myself for not seeing this! I even asked them twice before hand about the coverage! Idk if it was a clerical error or they took it off because they felt they were loosing money because after they weighed it they said that it was a tad more weight but they would honor the quote. Weather they accidentally forgot to add it or they did it maliciously idk. However to Lie to me about how they packed it! I understand we all make mistakes but to outright LIE about the way it was packed makes me think the insurance was taken off and kept my price the same for them to cover the difference. I would have absolutely paid more for the insurance! I did so with my TV when I shipped it USPS. Do NOT go with them! You will regret it!!! A month later I must add! They mysteriously have a rave review from a no named individual about the time my truthful ripping of them is posted. Don’t be fooled!!! I guarantee its one of the employees with a false review! Check their B.B.B complaints. I am not the only one to post a complaint there!

My family contracted with Craters and Freighters in San Diego to ship a hundred year old grandfather clock from San Diego to Portland, Or. Craters and Freighters failed to properly secure and transport the clock. As a result of this, over $ 6000 worth of damage was done to the clock including physical damage to the clock cabinet and collapsing of the clock mechanism. I have consulted with experts on the shipping of grandfather clocks(especially Herschede) who state that the clock was improperly shipped laying down. Grandfather clocks should be transported in an upright manner to minimize the risk of damage. Since Craters and Freighters shipped the clock laying down, significant damage occurred to the clock. While the vast majority of the other pieces we shipped arrived intact and undamaged, the significant damage to the clock is too much to overlook. For shipping general freight, Craters and Freighters is just fine. But for valuable antiques which require a higher degree of care and expertise, I would look elsewhere.
