If you’ve ever been hurried by being asked «is that it? Is that it?» Before you even finish speaking, welcome to Nando’s. There was one car in the drive through and I was the only one inside and the guy spoke to me like I was an absolute inconvenience. I asked him if he was in a hurry and he said he couldn’t understand me. Oh well, four tack shops within a 1 mile radius. I wont be heading back to Nando’s

For tasty and fresh food, I would say stop in. I have been there for breakfast take out and dine in (outside) during the day. The owner, Nando, is friendly, polite and quite personable. I’ve heard unfavorable comments regarding the evening staff, but I’ve only gone when Nando was there, and things were great.
Although the décor is very humble and dated, it is very clean. There are a lot of food choices. I say 4 stars in THIS particular category of «taco shops» — casual, budget friendly, quick fresh eats.

Great fast food. Decent price, somewhat okay service. The younger heavy set man is a little rude and just «throws» you your food when you order at the drive in. Every other worker is great and friendly. Would give 5 stars but one worker not so great.

California burrito to die for. So good. I’ve been coming here since 2008. By far the most delicious Cali burrito

There carnitas is by far the best i ever had. Full of flavor! Nando is the most kindest man ever. The place is clean and has a homie feel to it. I used to live in lemon grove and i would frequent Nandos 3xs a week! I love that place

Our order was taken promptly by an older gentleman and came out fast. Food looked appetizing. The carne asada torta was tasty. Onions were very strong, could have done without. Seating area was clean. All was fine and dandy until the cashier changed to a young guy with scruffy facial hair and basketball shorts hanging off his butt. He began taking drive thru orders at shouting level while staring directly at us across the dining room. Nobody’s perfect, I figured he just has volume control issues. Little did we know this was just a small thing compared to his other habits…
Dude steps into the kitchen and farts really loudly. It echoed through the dining room. A little later he comes up and sits in the dining area. While he’s there he gets on his phone and watches something with screaming. A little odd… Then, he coughs, sneezes, sniffles and grunts repeatedly. He is a continuous noise making machine of various bodily functions. I kept thinking he’d stop but it continued for at least 5 minutes while he chilled and watched the video with screaming. We stopped eating and shared a laugh at how this could not get much more gross and how oblivious he was to it all. So much coughing and hacking right in front of people eating. Maybe he’ll hang outside next time he has extreme flatulence and needs to blow his nose on his hand. Honestly I wasn’t expecting white glove service but at least you could put on a pair of pants or something, maybe it would help muffle the farts.

I have been going to this place for 6 years … Still one of my favorite taco shops in San Diego. Nando is super cool, nice guy… The carrots are the BOMB! Best beef tacos ever. I love all of their food… Nando’s son works at night and he’s not that great. He’s super cocky and flings the food out to you and it bugs me… But besides for the punk son, best taco shop in Lemon Grove for sure !!

Can’t speak for anything except their breakfast burritos, which are good. I work down the street, and on a morning where I haven’t woken up in time to make my own breakfast (which is most of them) I usually grab a #1 breakfast burrito here (ham, egg, cheese, and french fries — if it sounds weird with the fries in the burrito, just try it).
Give them a shot!

I come here often because I live in the neighborhood and get tattooed frequently down the street. I love the cheap fish tacos even being a fish taco snob.
At first, I only stopped by here merely because I needed to eat something quick and nearby my tattoo shop before a long session and it was the only thing open! It was a standalone small sketchy looking Mexican establishment That I had driven by several times before and decided it wouldn’t kill me to try.
I stopped in and was happy with the price of the fish tacos. Size was good as well. Very run down, not very sanitary looking either, but for a Cheap place in lemon grove, I wasn’t complaining and being in a hurry, I kept my mouth shut.
The drive thru attendant was super nice. Didn’t charge me for my drink and was very friendly with me about my tattoos. I’m covered. Which says a lot about the customer service. It made me return again and again each time there was a different guy there, and they always chat me up about each session I’m getting because I’m always stopping in before or after a new session.
The last couple times, the prices have gone up on breakfast burritos. Which sucks. But i not a huge complainer. This last time tho… my experience was soured. A random female was present. I’ve never seen her. I pulled into the drive through. I couldn’t really understand her on the intercom. Very rude. So I pulled up to the window. She proceeds to ignore me and help the car that had pulled in behind me, I’m cool about it. She sees me and acts awkward. Asks me what I need. I mention I had trouble hearing her and inquire about substitutions regarding beans to potatoes in their breakfast burritos, although they have one for $ 4.30 without a bacon combination but with guac instead, I simply wanted eggs, cheese bacon and potato. I was hungover and about to get tattooed. She was impatient. And said it would be $ 1.00 more due to price increase even though the sign said the price increase was due to increase on eggs??? She begins to tell me to hurry up. Because the car behind me is waiting. I’m respond with, ok, well if it’s a hassle, just give me a fish taco and a Pepsi.
$ 4.30 for one taco and a soda and to be treated like crap because their intercom system was having technical issues?
I’ve never seen this chubby Mexican girl before! But needless to say I went across the street to the Mexican Seafood sit down restaurant and paid a couple bucks extra for a breakfast burrito to get it the way I wanted it and not be rushed out the door. What a bi###!

I no longer eat meat, but if I still did, you could bet I would be at Nando’s getting carne asada or adobada fries! SO GOOD. Not to mention the prices are reasonable and the people who work here are so nice :)

Food was pretty good and service was fast. The employees could’ve been somewhat more enthusiastic when dealing with customers.

Great tacos & taquitos… especially because it’s hard to find taquitos that are authentic, delicious, and made with fresh ingredients. But Nando’s is the best! Every time I order from Nando’s they do a superb job. I can’t wait to try more of their menu! The only criticism I have is maybe get some AC or exhaust fans for your hard workers. It seems like it gets so hot in there and they are still so friendly and professional while making great food!

I just moved into the area and my house is being renovated right now, my kitchen is not really up and running yet. So I stopped by here a few times for breakfast. I’ve had the #4 breakfast burrito (eggs, bacon, beans and cheese) multiple times, its pretty well stuffed and yummy. I have also ordered the pancakes with eggs and bacon. The pancakes are fluffy and taste good! Everything is pretty cheap too so I cant complain about that. The guy taking my order was super polite and kind. I never have a problem asking for a lot of salsa either. This place will probably be my go to spot for breakfast burritos, they’ve stayed consistent on flavor and size.

My favorite go-​to place for awesome Mexican food! I love the convenience of the drive thru and they are pretty quick with getting your order.

Nando’s is a taco shop in the neighborhood that I frequent. It has a drive thru so if your pressed for time or the lazy bug has got you. The drive thru is perfect. The building itself has been there for years. It has changed owners a few times in the past with different names attached to it but as far as I can remember. It has always been a Mexican taco shop.
Nando’s in particular has been around for awhile now. Six, seven years? Maybe longer. I feel the current owners have done well. The taco shop cranks out solid Mexican food. The best thing on the menu being the carne asada chips. Warm chips covered in strips of tender cut carne asada, sour cream, guacamole and cheese. Enough for two to three people. Very good.

I would give this place no stars if I could.
As soon as I walked in the lady at the counter made me feel like I was unwelcome.
I waited 15 minutes for my food as people walked in and out receiving their orders. The lady apologized to every one who had some issues but not to me. I felt like she was trying to rush me off when she gave me food.
My breakfast burrito was really good but I won’t be returning due such poor service.

Had to update my review because I have been back a couple of times and have had a couple different people make my food.
Went here on my way back from Az one night. Figured if im out this way might as well get somthing from my favorite taco shop. I went through the drive thru as I do most times. And these two youngsters were working it was about8:45−9. First it sounded like they were messing around while taking our order. When I got my order, we decided we wanted to eat in the car it smelled so good. No forks were in the bag. Luckily we were right next to it. Still an hour left till closing and they already had the door locked. Not only that, but they made my girl walk to the drive thru window to get the forks. We were to hungry to care. Not sure if it was undercooked or old but the meat was off… i do not know there names but.
I know the names of the 2 other people wbo I hope I deal with every time I am there. DULCE Y ALVARO gracias por todo. Dulce is always awesome. Makes sure we have everything we need. Alvaro cooks like my jefe and jefita back in my home town. You can always hear him in the back singing along with the radio just like my jefe jaja. When ever they are working I know I am going to very much enjoy my meal. After telling her about the 2 youngsters I delt with she apologized multiple times and told me she will talk to them because that is not how this business should be run. Im glad i finnaly found a place were atleast I know ill be taken care of and my opinion matters.
Only down side besides that one time is watch out with the patio seats. They are not bolted down. A bigga homie like me should not sit on the edge jaja.
Even with those 2 small issues I cant take off a star because I know 99.9% of the times I have been here Dulce y Alvaro have been the best. Dont forget to try my favorite thing carne asada fries with just meat, cheese, rice, and beans. You get a huge portion… oh and one last thing. I know especially you ladies will like to know the bathroom while it is just one small bathroom it is very clean and well kept. Smells clean too.

This is by far my favorite taco shop in San Diego.
They are the only taco shop that has the exact breakfast burrito I want (without having to add or remove anything) for a very reasonable price and good portions.

To all of my Carne Asada loving friends, I need to share a not so cute story. I have been coming back here for burritos and noticed that every time I finish eating within an hour or so, I have the runs. I know terrible picture but true. I wanted to make sure so I went back again and yes it happened again. Today was the last straw. I apologize if this is too much information but I thought you may want the truth. So, there it is. My tummy hurts :’(
