This is an old fashion service type store that will help you with what ever your project requires. Great advice and hard to find parts and things. I always try this place first.

I understand that the owner has been in Lemont since Jesus was a kid but OMG — what a mess! If you enjoy searching through a store that’s absolutely filthy, with products that have been sitting around for 30 years, this is the place for you. This is less a hardware store than a step back into the 60’s — except the dirt would probably have been less thick back then. To be fair, the locals tell me that if you need a piece of pipe cut or a really old, unusual piece of plumbing, this place can’t be beat — and that this family owned business is seen by some as a Lemont icon. I also understand that they’re so outdated that even Ace corporate asked the store owner to not brand their place as an «Ace» anymore. I guess that was about 10 years ago and there are still plenty of old, unsold Ace products on the shelves. I guess some places are«antiquey and kitschy» and fun to search through. This place is just old and dirty. That being said, what got me to stop in was a realty ad that lists the place and the parking lot for sale for $ 3.4 million. Good weekend project for a do-it-your-selfer.

This is an amazing place! I spend at least an hour in here everytime I stop by and I always see something new that I missed in previous trips. It is not just hardware on sale here folks. They have a plethora of vintage goods from the 80s and early 90s not to mention beautiful antiques and jewelry — and all at great prices. It is truly the epitome of one stop shopping… perhaps this should be reclassified as more than just a hardware store. Need some hardware? Need some vintage or antique goods? Need some used golf clubs or golf balls? Check, check and check! If you are in Lemont or not, this shop is worth the trip.
