I ordered a Chicago dog and a Chicago Brat. They were dressed properly and tasted very good. The Brats casing was a bit tough… but the«bite through» was delicious! I will try the Coney next!

This is a fabulous place and great food. Kansas City is lucky that the Oklahoma Sooners lost this place. Go Jayhawks

This was my very first coney dog experience… I was NOT let down! Go… now! It is very affordable, delicious and the guy who helped us out was friendly and fast. Will definitely be back… probably more than I should admit!

Saw the reviews so we decided to try it. Awesome price. Awesome taste!!! So happy there is now a local coney themed little dive in my area. The chili is amazing. Perfect contrast of flavors. This is a must try. Definitely going back!

You can’t beat this deal for the city! 2 hot dogs & a drink for $ 5. You can also get sauerkraut or onions for free on the hot dogs. The are also all beef. And the drinks are excellent! I have tried the piña colada & the coconut champagne drinks. The champagne one was so good I bought a quart of it to go.

I loved this place even before walking inside, because of the hot dog cartoon characters in the window. The coneys here are unlike any chili cheese dog I’ve ever had; the combination of meats in the dog and the blend of spices in the chili(with a hint of cinnamon) play together nicely. Everything here is fresh and delicious. I can’t imagine eating a regular hot dog ever again.

Incredible coneys. High quality dogs, homemade Greek chili, onions and cheese… You’ll want more than one so come hungry. Excellent value also. Hidden gem in OP.

If you like cheese this is the place for you! I spent a lot of time at a local Coney Island growing up in Iowa so I was excited to see a coney style place open. My first impression viewing the menu was that the options are quite limited. If you don’t want a coney, this isn’t your place. After getting a paper menu to add a picture I discover they also have a selection of pastas. I ordered a cheese coney and after discovering the pasta ordered lasagna to go. The coney was OK. The dogs are a little small, swallowed up in the bun. You won’t need a fork to eat this coney and won’t have a chili mess as the bun is big enough to contain everything. I would prefer a better bun to insides ratio myself. The coney had a heaping amount of cheese on top. The huge amount of cheese became the star instead of the dog and chili. I was given the option for my lasagne to have it heated there or heat it myself, I chose the later. This was a nice option to keep the noodles from becoming crispy with multiple reheats. The lasagne was loaded with cheese also, way too much cheese. The bits of meat sauce were good, but masked in all of the cheese. Every bite was a glob of chewy cheese. Don’t get me wrong, I like cheese, but it is possible to over do it. Cut back the cheese and increase the meat sauce and this would be a darn good lasagna! The wall menu listed deserts. They only have cookies, but did not have any baked. They also didn’t have any chicken for the Alfredo. Being a newer restaurant it is tough to balance between demand and waste, maybe a more clear menu would help this. Most of the menu items come as a combo with a drink. Being I don’t drink carbonated beverages and rarely drink caffeinated beverages this limits me. They did not have an option to order at a lower price without a drink which would have been ideal. I figured I would get an iced tea, but they only have sweet tea. What??! Outside of soda and sweet tea my options were bottled water or orange juice. Some non-sugar loaded options are needed. And Oj just doesn’t go with chili or pasta. As Coney Island grows I hope it develops into a KC icon. With a little tweeking the potential is there!

This isn’t actually a review since we didn’t get to eat but we heard about this place and it was recommended so we checked the hours which said they were open until 7:00p.m drove 35 minutes to get there arrived at 5:55 and they were closed! The sign on the door stated they were open until 7:00 but they were closed. So after waiting a week to try this place and driving for 35 minutes we got a big fat NOTHING! Very disappointing!

Have been there a couple of times now and have had the coney dog, lasagna and the chicken fettuccine. Everything has been great but the lasagna is fantastic! Highly recommended!

I am from the Detroit area and have been eating coney’s all my life. When I moved here I was said to find out that there were no coney islands, and the closest thing to a coney dog was a chili dog. Coney Island has exactly what I was looking for. That amazing coney dog taste with some OK and OH influences. You can really tell the owner really cares about the food he is offering, so much so that he has studied coney dogs to ensure he is getting it right. I had the coney combo,(3 coneys, chips, and a drink.) It was excellent. I will be returning and would recommend that you get in and try it.

I am originally from Oklahoma and grew up eating Coneys from Coney I-Lander in Tulsa. Anytime we visited Tulsa, it’s always one of those places we would have to eat at because we couldn’t get those yummy little dogs here. Well, now we can at Coney Island! For those uneducated in what a REAL coney is, it is a small beef and pork hot dog in a steamed bun with mustard slathered in a bean-less, very mildly spicy chili smothered in fine shredded cheddar cheese and onions — truly heaven on a bun! Ronnie, the owner, is originally from Tulsa and knows what he’s doing. He spent time studying what Coney I-Lander does, but definitely is keeping the KC consumer tastes in mind. He’s getting his dogs and chili from the same supplier as Coney I-Lander, but has tweaked the chili and somehow made it even better. Order at least two when you’re there, because they are small — I usually get three, and I’m a girl. Add a Frito Chili Pie if you’re hungry. Heck, add one even if you aren’t and save it for later. Whatever you do, you need to get over to this place and try it out and start your addiction now. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
