I’ve tried a few Mexican restaurants in the area and have found most to be pretty bland. After reading some other reviews of Mi Ranchito, I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed! My huevos rancheros was cooked properly(egg yolks still runny — not hard), and salsa with a little kick. The margaritas on tap are great. The only bummer is that right now you have to go a bit out of the way to get there. This will be better when the construction in the area is finished.

I came here for lunch with two friends and wasn’t expecting much, but I left super impressed! The menu was extensive and our food was very good– the best Mexican food I’ve found so far in KC. The service was extremely prompt and friendly, even though it was a busy lunch hour and they were packed. The food on the lunch menu was reasonably priced and everything tasted fantastic. I will definitely be back soon!

Food is great, their gluten free options are pretty good too. They have amazing selection and their chips are always made fresh in house. My only complaint is their wait.

This was my second time there — first time was a little busy and honestly I don’t really like the booths — it seems both times I have been seated on the upper level and it’s crowded. However this time they were not busy so it was not a big deal. You are served chips and salsa right away and they are good. The service was good, the margaritas were good and the food is enjoyable. Other than feeling a little crowded — I have no real complaints. This is a place worth checking oout.

It takes a lot for me to write a review for a restaurant. I have to have a really great experience or really great food. This time, I had both. I brought my extremely picky mother here for lunch. We showed up right at eleven and the place was pretty full by the time we left. However, our server, Leslie, was phenomenal and still made us feel like we were the only ones there. She was very knowledgable about the menu and answered every question I had with ease. Now to the food. We had the espinaca dip(always the first thing I try at a new Mexican restaurant). It was phenomenal. Slightly spicy, thick, creamy, cheesy deliciousness. I enjoyed it! My mom isn’t much on spinach so she wasn’t a fan. But this isn’t her review, it’s mine. I ordered the lunch special with the pork tamale and the machaca beef taco. The masa of the tamale was moist, tender and amazing. The pork inside was perfect. Not heavily seasoned, the way it should be. It was literally shredding apart as I stuck my fork in it because it was so tender. The rice deserve a a shout out too. I’ve noticed that a lot of Mexican restaurants have really mushy rice. Like the overcooked it for whatever reason. Not here. This rice had texture! It was perfect. My mother got a taco salad with ground beef and charro beans on the side. She was full before she got to the beans, so I gladly ate them. I am not exaggerating when I say these were the best charro beans I have ever tasted. They start out with a mild pinto flavor, then a kick of smoky chipotle and adobo, then a nice finish of cinnamon(or allspice? I couldn’t tell for sure). They were divine and I wish I had a gallon of them to take home. My mom left her glasses at the table and one of the servers even ran out to her car to give them to her before we left. Awesome. All in all, I will definitely be making a trip back here. The food and service were amazing and I couldn’t be happier. Even my picky ass mother said she would come back! If you’re in the area and craving some delicious Mexican, this is the place to go.

This is one of my absolute faaaaavorite places to have dinner. The staff is really sweet and the service is speedy! What I’ve ordered has always been delicious, and you get a lot of food for the price so if you don’t finish, everything I’ve taken home in a box has tasted great reheated too. :-) This is the perfect choice to go if you’re new in town or visiting. You can’t go wrong with an order of espinaca dip and enchiladas.

Great food — small but good service and crazy busy on Friday night. We had chicken tamales and bacon wrapped shrimp fajitas. Great price too. It’s definitely casual dining and loud due to high volume of business they do. They have been around for 10 years and I can see why.

This restaurant has very good employees. And the food was very good. I had cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. I like my food straight out the kitchen so I wouldn’t recommend it to go if you want to eat it nice and hot. I will go back.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Johnson County. Food is always delicious, their wait staff is very friendly, and their chips and salsa are AMAZING!

I had never heard of Mi Ranchito until moving to the burbs, but since living here, I think we’ve frequented this place more than anywhere else. Why? It’s good Mexican food. Many of the dishes are Americanized for sure, but they have a large menu and lots of options so you don’t feel like you’re at the same ol’ Mexican joint with the same ol’ menu. The service is always pretty fast and usually very kind. It’s a simple casual place, and I crave that at the end of a busy work week. They often have beer/drink specials. It’s just good, casual, low key food. I’ve gone with groups and small parties. Either way, they serve you well. Wishes for this place: I wish the location and ambiance were nicer. They have a patio I’d love to spend hours on if only it wasn’t overlooking a parking lot and I-35. I wish they didn’t have waits on Friday nights or Tuesdays(hey, a girl can dream).

Being a party of one, I was able to walk in and sit at the bar. They immediately served up tasty chips with their two salsas(regular and avocado). Loved the avocado. Jessica, the margarita-making queen fixed me up a drink that paired well with the pork carnitas tamales. It was more food than I could eat, so now I have a second meal for in the coming days. I had a handsome man, Chris, come in shortly after me and we ended up talking and eating together. That is the fun… discovering new places and friendly faces!!!

The best part of our visit to KC. We were staying nearby and decided to give this gem a try. We got there at 7 and the place was packed. Definitely make a reservation on a Saturday night. We were seated on the patio by our request and given great chips and salsa. The avocado salsa was interesting and very good. Different than guacamole. She had the chimichangas and I had an enchilada dish. Both were amazing. The rice perfect. The beans being hands down the best I’ve had in a long time. Our Mexican back home doesn’t even come close. Everything just seemed fresh and bursting with flavor. I’m not sure how they marinade /cook their steak but don’t change a thing. Yum. Service was great even though the place was wall to wall people. The inner dinning room is very tight but I attribute that to their success/demand.

The chips and salsa saved a two star review for this place. The food I had was an enchilada with some«chicken» in it. It had the most funky texture of any chicken I’ve ever eaten. I was more the texture of a rubber pencil eraser. Horrible! And it didn’t taste anything like chicken. Had I used the loo before I ordered I would have walked out. I’ve always felt if that area of the restaurant is a dirty pit so is the kitchen. I won’t be a return customer.

Mi Ranchito rarely disappoints. Everything about this location as with the others smacks of deliciousness. From the fresh chips and salsa to great apps like espinaca dip and guac and dinner favorites like fajitas and carne asada, they have the market cornered on great food. This location is a hidden gem off 95th Street in Lenexa. You wouldn’t expect to find a restaurant sharing a wall(and parking) with an auto repair shop. It really just looks like part of the garage. The inside, however, is synonymous with other MR locations. Fast & friendly service and fantastic food choices. Drink specials are very good too. House margaritas are reasonably priced and usually pretty stiff. Don’t hesitate to check out this funky location soon. They hold the standard high for other MR locations around the city.

I have been here a couple of times and was blown away by the service especially for a lunch time setting. They were busy but you would never have known because whole staff was attentive and always had fresh chips, salsa or drink which is rare. I am having the cream cheese enchiladas tonight along with the President Margarita and once again I am in love with another entrée. There is a couple of these local chain Mexican restaurants and I am satisfied every time and tonight is no exception. You will not regret stopping in one day for lunch or dinner with the family for a great meal.

This is the typical Americanized goofy family focused Mexican restaurant. Not my scene. Chips and salsa were OK. I ordered the chili verde pork burrito. I didn’t love it, there wasn’t much flavor but the pork was nice and tender. They did hand out balloons for the little amigos!

Solid Mexican food! Their salsas are awesome! Be sure to ask for the hot and if they don’t put it on your table ask for the green Avocado salsa. The chips are thin and crispy and delicious! I’ve had several of the menu items. Some of my favorites are the Love Burrito, Enchiladas Rancheras, Chile Verde Carnitas, & Chile Rellenos, to name a few. They also have frequent coupons for their Espinaca dip! Which is out of this world!

I don’t know what it is about Kansas restaurants adjacent to service stations. When I stopped here, the first thing I saw was the tire service shop, and on the corner, same building is Mi Ranchito’s. I was immediately seated and bought salsa and chips. The salsa wasn’t too hot, had a slight cilantro flavor and is possibly the best salsa I’ve had. The chips, light and delicious. I ordered the grilled shrimp chimichanga which was on special. I only found a couple of shrimp, but I would order it again. It came with a cheese sauce with broccoli. Also was included black beans and a minute scoop of rice. A corn fritter was to the side. I had excellent service and very good food. Couldn’t find the coupon people are talking about. This is in an excellent location, just off I-35 before Bass Pro Shop at the next exit. Parking is probably sketchy, there isn’t much of it. But I really enjoyed it and will be back. There’s tons more things on the menu to try.

$ 1 Margaritas the month of August! Don’t let the plastic«to go» glass fool you! This Margarita packs a punch. Thanks for the tip Amanda O. I made sure that I grabbed my coupon for free Espinaca dip off the internet… and used it right from my phone. Cheesy, delicious, and free! Thanks Chadwick T. Since I was on a roll, I decided to take another suggestion and try the cream cheese chicken enchiladas. The enchiladas are plump with all white meat chicken. And, in case you are wondering, the cream cheese is in the sauce that is slathered over the enchiladas. Along with some sour cream, to create a pleasant tanginess. A couple of slices of fresh avocado, rice, beans, and viola! A meal fit for a hungry lumberjack, but, since I’m not… a lumberjack, that is! I took my leftovers home for a second meal. That’s value. If the weather was more temperate, the outdoor patio would be a great place for bringing a group from work for happy hour… AKA the entire month of August for $ 1 Margaritas! In case you’re not in your car yet, driving towards 95th and I 35… there’s a Margarita calling your name!
