Finally dragged my picky eater husband to this spot not more than 5 miles from our house. He loved it… and so did I. Already booked my family of 9 for a live music night in July. Hoping Lonnie is there. He is great on the piano. Owner went out of his way to be pleasant and accommodating and will try to whip up a vegetarian dish if needed when possible. This is certainly the first of many wonderful food experiences. I’m calling it an experience because it was more than a meal. Great wine, Belgian beers, ambiance and food. As my husband said«I feel like I’m visiting with the part of my family that I like».

Will never go back. Health department needs to be called. Hair and bugs everywhere. Soup was cold. We waited forever for service and we were one of 2 tables.

It’s the best Belgian restaurant in Le Noir City. Jokes aside, lunch was passable. There were a number of small issues that led me to a 3⁄5 rating. If I hadn’t known the place was Belgian, I’d have assumed it was just a burger and grilled cheese lunch spot. The only lunch menu item that is remotely«Belgian» was the lunch special, but they had run out of the carbonade le flamande by 1:00 pm(a late lunch, in fairness). Our waitress forgot about us for about 5 minutes, and she was apologetic and flustered, causing her to goof up my order. The croques(grilled cheeses with toppings) were $ 7 – 9 and tasted just fine. The Belgian macaroni and cheese is macaroni and cheese with a little bit of ham. The beer selection is nice, and they are served in stoneware mugs that retain temperature well. Beers are +$ 3.75, and probably less than a pint(custom stoneware makes volumetric judgements difficult). If I had to go again, I’d go at dinner time and hope they have in stock some of the more distinguishably Belgian foods, which, the menu suggests that they do.

My wife and I ate here yesterday for dinner to celebrate my birthday. I had passed by many times mentioning to her that I would love to try it and she surprised me with reservations for dinner last night. I am so glad she did! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was wonderful! Yan(the owner) was a gracious host and we found ourselves talking about the history of the restaurant and his future plans which are very exciting. Lenoir City is very lucky to have this local business and we are very excited about the future possibilities! I highly recommend you make the trip as you will not be disappointed. It’s well worth it!

My children and I met a friend in Lenior City and we were looking for grub when this joint popped up on Unilocal.Belgian? Lenoir City? Southern Belgian to be even more specific? I’m game. Started with the appetizer — loaded fries. we devoured them — very flavorful with bacon from heaven. Chicken Tarragon, club sandwich, steak and some Belgian Meatball special — all devoured. Tiramisu(I love you Italy) and apple tart — devoured. Server was very knowledgeable and guided my daughter away from the Chicken and Waffles. Definitely worth a trip.

On our way home from Pigeon Forge we needed to stop for lunch. Looked on Unilocal to see what our choices were in Lenoir City, Tennessee. This little Bistro is a great place for lunch or dinner. Our server Brandon was excellent in guiding us with ordering something special. Would eat here often if we lived in the area but, will stop back by whenever we can.

Overpriced decent food. The restaurant had a stale smell. Only one waiter who wasn’t good at his job. The microwave seemed to be the most used item in the kitchen. Belgian fries that they are so proud of were mushy.

I think this café is really cute. The owners are very sincere and very sweet and great cooks. I will go in there just for the Friars and the waffle. All in all a good place to relax and chat with friends.

I was amazed to find a Belgian restaurant in a small town of Tennessee in the sea of chain restaurants. I’ve eaten a lot of great belgian food and beer(even in Belgium), and I would say this place hits on all accounts. They have a pretty extensive list of some typical and some harder to find strong Belgian beers on tap and in bottles. All beer is served in these unique, handmade clay mugs. The food is authentic Flemish food and delicious at that. I had the special of the day which was beer beef stew with red cabbage and my colleague had mussels which were well seasoned but a little smaller than Im used to. The atmosphere and décor are nothing spectacular, but what really made the meal great was some good conversations with the owner(who came from Belgium many years ago) who treated us to his famous sausages and a beer on the house, good food and beer, and great prices. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

I ordered the mussels and a house salad with bacon vinaigrette. The mussels had quite a lot of bell peppers, even though bell peppers were not listed on the menu as part of the dish. When I’ve ordered mussels at other restaurants, part of the meal is good bread to dip in the mussel sauce. The lettuce in my salad was somewhat wilted though the bacon vinaigrette was delicious and made in house. All in all, I was excited to eat there but came away disappointed. The server was excellent, the décor was beautiful, but the food left something to be desired.

My steak was cooked exactly as I ordered. The potatoes were amazing. I can honestly say that this is alone of the best meals I have had in a long time. And to top it off they had live music that perfectly set the mood. If you live in the lenoir city area you should stop in and give it a try.

My hubby and I often venture out on a weekend drive to explore new places. We were driving through Lenoir City and passed Le Noir when I said«turn around and let’s check it out»! We’re so glad we did! Neither of us are schooled in Belgian cuisine, so we were excited to try something new. He wasn’t very hungry, so he ordered the fries with the Belgian beef beer stew on them. It was a meal in itself and was delicious! The meat was so tender and there was a sweetness in the stew that was indescribable. Amazing! I had the Saturday special of sausage with red cabbage. Instead of mashed potatoes, they let me substitute French Onion Soup. The sausages were great, but what really set them off was eating each bite with a bite of the sweet, red cabbage and a tiny dollop of mustard. So delicious! I ended up drinking the last of the French onion soup out of the bowl when no one was looking if that tells you how good it was! We had the chocolate ice cream sundae(can’t remember the name) for dessert and it was fantastic! We’ll definitely be back and will bring friends!

What a refreshing dining choice in an otherwise gastronomically grim dining landscape. The food is very good. They have a solid selection of Belgian beers. And the Belgian chocolate sauce on ice cream is fantastic. I look forward to returning.

This was about our 4th visit to Le Noir. All previous visits have been very good until this visit this past week. We would like to keep a restaurant like this in Lenoir City so I hope the management gets a wake up call. First off waitress service was sub par in comparison to what we have gotten in the past. She had difficulty giving us a decent Stella from the tap. More than half the mug was only foam. She did try to correct that thru our meal though. We love the hamburgers here but this was a disappointment when we waited awhile and got a well overdone hamburger, when medium rare was ordered. The cheese on the burger was so hard we could not believe it. The fresh roll the burger is put on, and the usual crispness on the outside of the burger is usually very good. We did re-order the burger but it was a long day for us so we took it home, burger was cooked better on 2nd try. Fries with Belgium beef stew on top was good this evening. French fries crispy and meat very tender. For me this can be a meal in itself, hubby loves it. We also had French onion soup and this go around mediocre at best, onions were a little tough. Buffalo wings were just ok, the hot level is up there so beware, we should have asked. No dipping sauce came and I had to ask. In a previous visit we had a Belgian waffle for dessert with ice cream and fruit, drizzled with Belgian chocolate. It was delicious, a wonderfully light waffle with a great crispy outside, fruit was excellent. On other visits they were out of their specials so sometimes we were disappointed but figured it was a new restaurant and they were not sure of how much business they would be getting. Weekend live musicians was an added plus and we really enjoyed that. We plan to visit again but hoping it is not a hit or miss restaurant because we encouraged friends to go.

Great meal tonight. Braised endive wrapped in ham in a bechamel sauce with crispy top and side of cabbage made the right way, burger with a perfect char topped with sliced fried Brussels sprouts accompanied by the best mac and cheese that was creamy, tangy and nice sharp cheddar with cubes of tender ham. Finished with cappuccino and a delightfully crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside waffle with strawberries, whipped cream, and Belgian chocolate drizzle. The place is small but inviting. Service was warm, friendly and laid back. Prices were amazingly affordable. The only down sides, several items on the menu were not available and the fries with three sauces were a little floppy/greasy. The sauces were awesome, think the oil was just not hot enough. We will definitely come back next time were in Tennessee, most authentic meal with authentic people we’ve had in ages and far and away the best we had this trip.

Heard about Le Noir & wanted to try it. Got there around 7:30 on a Saturday night. We sat at the bar because all tables were full and were not acknowledged until a table opened up. Our waitress was very nice and we finally ordered. We got the fries with 3 sauces for an appetizer. OMG, they were delicious. The curry sauce was amazing. We ordered the pork chop, mussels, and Sat night special for main entrees. They were ok, nothing to write home about. I would recommend trying this place. They need to work out some kinks, but they have a solid foundation to build on. Just an FYI – we lived in England for 6 years and travelled to France/Belgium frequently.
