Jeff at Five Star Storage in Lenoir, NC was very helpful… even when I was late on my payment! lol Not only was he helpful when I was unsure of the size unit that I needed, but he set up my auto pay without a problem. I hope I won’t be moving again-but if I do, I will surely use Five Star again! :)

Go anywhere else. There name is a lie! When moving out of state we left a lot of items in storage then came back 8 months later to get it. When we had rented the unit the idiot manager couldn’t even figure out how to use the computer. He also insured me that they didn’t have a mouse problem and this was important since my husband’s deer heads were being stored in there. Eight months later I can tell you the manager is never there. If you pay online then the idiot doesn’t always credit it until you call him to do his job. If you pay by phone he will do this credit at his home which is not comforting when giving out your credit card number. He also has an out of state number and is never on location and always has to call you back. Then the beginning of November we were late and deserved the late fees but started getting endless emails that they were cutting our locks and taking pictures of the unit and added a $ 75 with the emails. We paid up but owed for November yet we kept getting these emails threatening to take our items. Then we paid everything and started getting emails demanding to know when we were going to get our items when we had till December 8th to get them. When picking up the items we had well over $ 3000 in damages due to mice. We even killed a mouse when removing the items. Everyone of my husband’s deer heads were destroyed along with his mounted bobcat and groundhog. Boxes had been chewed along with blankets. There were rat nests in many of the boxes and I promise we left them nothing in our unit to attract them. Upon leaving we couldn’t fit everything so three days later my mother in law came and got the rest of the items and swept the unit and insured it was clean but as always the no one was in the office so she called us and I called the manager and told him it was cleaned out like he had requested. Then a few weeks later I’m still receiving bills and keep contacting the manager telling him it’s empty and he called me a liar and said we still had a lock on the door and I insured him that whatever was in that unit wasn’t ours nor the lock, yet I still kept receiving bills. Then today he says he’s charging me a cleanout fee for leaving unwanted items in the unit that are not mine. Don’t go here. They are crooked and your items will be destroyed.
