If you are visiting Lenoir, try Hannah’s BBQ, a wonderful local favorite. There is extra parking out back. Try the Brunswick stew or the bbq plate. Great, friendly service.

Tried this place today. The staff was very nice. And the BBQ was good. The sliced pork had a very nice flavor. The fries were kind of bland. And a little soggy, but that could be because I got it to go. The beans are good. And their sauce we got had a nice flavor with a heat at the end. The only real negative I have is the Brunswick stew was a little thin. The flavor f it was good. But the texture was a little more like soup than stew. Overall good BBQ for the price.

This is my third favorite bar b q place. For me, #1 is Melvin’s in Mt. Pleasant, SC, #2 Bridges in the Shelby area and then it’s Hanna’s. I’ve eaten at what I believe to be all of Hanna’s locations in the Unifour and have enjoyed them all. Over the past several years I think I’ve eaten everything on the menu at least once.

Decided to stop here tonight the parking lot was pretty full so figured they had to do something right. Ordered a take out combo plate asked for ribs and the chopped pork. Unfortunately when i got home i had no ribs but bbq chicken. I am not a fan of bbq chicken at all. However the hush puppies, bbq sauce and white slaw were all tasty. The chopped pork was ok.

Well I gave this restaurant a very mediocre review before, but here I sit eating pulled BBQ with a real nice sweet heat sauce and of course the Brunswick stew. It just pulled me in.

If you are looking for real BBQ this is not the place to go. The food is okay but its not BBQ its boiled or baked meat with sauce. Real BBQ is prepared in a smoker.

Not quite sure how reviewers give Hannah’s 5-stars… When I first went to check out the place I figured the best way to get a good feel for their fare would be to order a combo pork plate. Most the meat was thin, and incredibly dry, like it was meant to be soaked in water, like the kind you bring camping. Both times I’ve been there it was fairly crowded, so I’m still trying to figure out why without asking someone! Second time around I ordered the smoked pork BBQ — I’ve always preferred NC-style BBQ over Texas-type that uses a heavy tomato base. Not sure what happened to the ‘smoked’ part, yet I do believe it was in fact, pork. Beans were soupy, and the slaw, well, let’s just say I’ve never had slaw I didn’t like unless it was bought from Food Lion, which is kinda what Hannah’s reminded me of. Maybe this coming winter I’ll chance trying their Brunswick stew, and hopefully I’ll feel inclined to add a star or two. Real nice folks work there, and do a great job making sure your drink’s topped off. But I don’t go there for drinks…

I’m from Florida and will probably be moving here in a couple years. Trying to go to different places around town to experience the local activities and restaurant. Our realtor suggested we try this place for lunch and we are VERY happy we did! The atmosphere is so inviting and homey feeling. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. Out waitress, Meg, was fantastic. Very helpful. The manager Alicia was really nice and gracious. We talked to them both about how we are thinking of moving here and asked them about things around town that they enjoy doing. They were eager to advise and we asked a ton of questions and gave us some great stuff to do. I highly suggest this place.

I love their barbecue chicken and my wife loves their buffalo chicken wings. Their buffalo sauce is a little different than most, and we like it that way. Their prices are typical for barbecue… a little more. But if you split a barbecue chicken plate, you both can get a large piece of chicken and a side.

I was passing through the area and local BBQ sounded way better than fast food. I got the BBQ pork with baked beans and a sweet potato. Everything was just fine, I quite enjoyed the baked beans. The service was pleasant and my drink stayed full. It was a cold day and all in all I was pleased with my meal. I was full for under $ 10.00.

As soon as you walk in, you know this is where the locals go! If you’re not from here, and looking for local«grub» you should try this place. It’s an extremely casual environment, don’t expect the best, you simply won’t get it. What will you get? A whole lot of local food! I definitely love the ribs, the baked beans and the pulled pork. But, honestly, I’ve had much, much better in Lenoir. Especially if you’re looking for smoked BBQ. You won’t get that here.

Just plain excellent. I had the combo plate to try it all. Ribs were the best! Brunswick Stew a little hotter than we make but otherwise the same. Excellent. Hushpuppies excellent as well

We are from CA. We were on our way to visit our friend but didn’t want to show up hungry. We saw this place off the highway by her house and figured why not. OMG We were in Heaven in Lenoir NC. Best BBQ we’ve had in a very long time. We tried to compare it to Memphis BBQ but we couldn’t. It’s totally different. Loved it and our server. Megan was so sweet. We got the Combo. Everything had its own unique tastes and textures. My husband loved all the sauces. Why don’t we have anything like this in Ca? If we did we’d be 300lbs in a week. I guess it’s good that good BBQ is so far away. We’re talking about making another trip to NC. Just to go eat BBQ. ;-)

Cooking a shoulder in an oven and pouring sauce on it does not make it BBQ. Not a hint of smoke, except around back where the help gathers to smoke cigs. Much better food is available just about anywhere else.

BBQ was good, the vinegar sauce I had, had a good spice to it. I really enjoyed the Brunswick Stew. Came on a recommendation from a local and wasn’t disappointed.

This place has been around forever and has many fans. We’ll try again but are not fans. Everything was OK, but within a mile we’ve had better.

Where is the BBQ? I do not get it… How do you Bbq with a stove? Did not taste nor smell any sign of smoke .So were do they cook it? I bet I know a food truck once a week. Step one when you make tatter salad Cook Tatters. Gees… I spent a hour picking little bones out of my mouth. They ran over the meat with a Truck I Guess. I felt like a red haired step child Bathroom is out back? It did have running water. Miracle. Have to say the best part about this place was when I left… BBQ? Not here.

A older converted Burger King. Stopped in on the way to mountains. The BBQ was good and seemed to be chopped finer than other places, not a bad thing, I kinda liked it. I really enjoyed the BBQ sauces they offered especially the tomato based one and I usually prefer the vinegar based sauce. I had the BBQ plate and it came with ample BBQ and hush puppies. Also came with two sides(Mac and Cheese and Green beans for me, very good). I love slaw with my BBQ, I mean what’s BBQ without the slaw?! I didn’t realize the slaw was actually a side? I assumed the slaw was a given to go along with the BBQ and wouldn’t be considered a side and was disappointed that I had no slaw but I survived. To the owners of Hannah’s IMHO making slaw at a bbq place is like making pickles a side at a burger joint… don’t do it!!! Anyway enjoyed it but did notice on the way out that the had the BBQ plate with iced tea for $ 6.49 as a special. My wife and I got water with a BBQ plate(didn’t pay attention to the sigh) so they charged us more even though we didn’t get a drink. Looks like the waitress would have pointed out that the BBQ plater comes with the tea for free and less on the special but she didn’t so we were charged more for the meal as a stand alone BBQ plate… not a biggie but just something that a little customer service from the waitress could have pointed out when we ordered or at least made our BBQ plate the same price as the BBQ platter special. So, BBQ was really good, not the best I’ve had but BBQ is personal as to what you think is the best. This was really good, tendered and flavored. I’d probably stop again but would probably check and see if there is another BBQ place close by to compare on our next trip through.
