No other true bakery like this in the area! Love it. Very unique and custom cakes, cupcakes, etc.

My family has been buying desserts and cakes from Byers Butterflake Bakery for years from birthday parties, special events, and graduations. Naturally, when my fiancé and I got engaged we knew Byers would be the perfect bakery to bake our wedding cake. We scheduled our tasting with Diane and had the best time. We arrived to our tasting to find six large slices of different flavored cakes for my fiancé, mom and I to taste. Additionally, she had out a variety of magazines and books to browse through to get ideas about what size, shape and design we may like. We absolutely loved the white cake with buttercream icing and the white cake with raspberry mouse filling. They were both light, fresh, moist and delicious. We knew they’d be the perfect flavors for our late summer wedding. Diane was an absolute joy to work with and we truly enjoyed choosing our wedding cake at Byers. On the night of our wedding reception, we finally saw our cake and were absolutely blown away. The icing and finishing was flawless. It was apparent that our guests enjoyed it as well as we only had one slice left at the end of the evening! It was a wonderful experience working with the team at Byers and we’re sincerely happy with how our wedding cake turned out!

We ordered a special cake for a birthday. I’d used this bakery before and wasn’t worried. While the cake looked exactly like the picture we provided, it was terrible once sliced. There was way too much icing gobbed all over very little cake. The fondant was awful and thick, with I’d have to say ¾ of an inch or more icing underneath that. There was so little cake to actually eat, my guests put down plates of thick fondant chuncks peeled off, with gobs of icing they’d wiped off just to find some of it to eat. I was thoroughly embarrassed by this terrible cake. It was pretty much a disaster along with chunks of cake stuffed in the bottom to fill in uneven spots — when we cut those areas it just fell apart. $ 70 they charged me for this giant gob of fondant and icing! I will not be buying anything from here again. Very unprofessional job.

We had our wedding reception at the Inn at Leola Village, which came with a cake from Byers Bakery. We visited the bakery for a taste test. We met with the owner and discussed cake design. She showed us cakes they had previously made and asked what we liked about them. Because we went with Inn at Leola Village she assumed we were getting our cake there. However, we weren’t sold on them. We wanted a cake that tasted good. Byers Bakery had decent cake, but I thought their icing was too sugary. I could feel the grit of the sugar. We weren’t impressed. I think it’s a great bakery for a birthday cake but not for a wedding cake.
