Planet Fitness – Leominster

Great place to work out. It’s so big that you rarely, if ever, have to wait to use a piece of equipment. Everything is always clean, and the staff are friendly.

There is a good variety of equipment for average gym goers. Bathrooms are always clean, and staff greats you when you arrive. Can’t go wrong with a year membership for a $ 100.

This is actually my favorite PF. I’ve been to PF’s up and down the east coast. The ladies were friendly and informative. The equipment looks very updated. Everything was very spacious. Two things, the towel dispenser are almost always empty and the lack of space for actually stretching is concerning. The hydro water massage beds are my favorite.

I enjoy the hydro massage bed, chairs, & workout equipment (though more dated than my home gym).
Gals behind the counter are friendly enough to get you checked in and on the amenities of your choosing.
The cleanser bottles leak water all over your hands when used. A few new bottles would only be a few bucks and gym goers would be thankful!
The paper towel dispensers are usually empty… leaving one on a wild goose chase around the gym if they care about cleanliness– which I do.
Visitors are required to pay a $ 20 fee per visit. :-o. Talk about steep! That’s how much I pay per month for my black card membership.
In my opinion this is overall the best gym deal around IF you get a «black card» membership.

Signed up with this gym in the summertime of 2012. You get what you pay for. Lowest rate of any place in the area but overcrowded and clausterphobic. I was able to deal with the occasionally busy atmosphere by going during non-​peak hours. That was until the 1^st of the year and the onslaught of new year’s resolution gym goers. The place was OVERRUN. And because they staff with minimal numbers to keep overhead down, there was no one available to assist new members, which is why I was asked more than once by clueless exercisers how to operate the equipment. The straw that broke the camel’s back was when I had to stand in the middle of the weight area for a good 15 minutes (because there’s no place to move in there) and wait for some guy to finish playing on his cell phone before I could get on a machine. My workouts were extended not because I was increasing my reps but because I had to stand around and wait for people NOT to work out. In this particular instance, a staff member walked by me standing there waiting twice, and said absolutely nothing. The day I walked in and canceled my membership, the staff member kept saying «but we’ll clear out by March!». Great, and by March I’ll be six months behind in my progress because I didn’t want to step foot in your gym. Again, you get what you pay for.

I have visited this location a few times while in the Leominster area. Each time I am reminded why I don’t like it. The equipment is old, tired and on top of each other. The employees have no personality and run the shop vac for hours during peak usage time which is extremely distracting and dangerous with the cords running all over the floor. In a pinch when you want to work out its fine but I would never have gotten a membership at Planet Fitness if this was my home gym. It’s a disgrace to their corporate image.

Convenient and cheap, that’s about it. There are tons of cardio machines, but limited free weights, especially during high traffic times. Showers are a bit creepy, too. I like it because its less expensive than the alternatives, because i do not use the aerobics classes at other gyms.
