Don’t let the outside of the restaurant fool you… It’s actually nice inside at this casual Tex-Mex joint… Solid burritos and fresh ingredients… Tex-Mex is becoming a dime a dozen, but this place has it’s own unique flavors… Good for take out and delivery as well…

Let me start off by saying the food is good — especially the rice bowls and BBQ chicken empanadas. Pretty fresh ingredients — close to their natural state for fast food. Ordered delivery for the 4th time last Friday night expecting a long wait and was told 30 – 35 minutes; expected 45. Called back after 65 minutes to see what’s going on. Called back after another 20 minutes and still no-show. Delivery finally shows up while I’m on the phone and the first thing driver(who later identifies himself as the manager) says is «very far very far we don’t deliver here». I reasonably explained the ridiculous wait and that you’ve delivered here several times before without issue. Excuse after excuse ensued including unbeliebable derogatory remarks about his staff. As a customer all you expect is some accountability and a discount, but all I got was negativity. Now I am not the type to go online after any bad experience and vent about it, but when a business shows utter disregard for both it’s customers and employees, to me that’s a line there’s no coming back from.

Don’t ever go here. I ordered a burrito over the phone that cost $ 13 and the people are rude and their credit card machine didn’t work and they made me leave without my lunch. They didn’t even give me a «Lunch on us» coupon because they inconvenienced me. They definitely lost a customer.

Not sure where all the glowing 5-star reviews are coming from, or if the reviewers ate in the same place we did, but honestly, I would never step foot in this place again. Much like Green Cactus or Taco Joe’s, this is quasi-fast-food Mexican. You order at the counter, and then pick up your food or it is brought to your table. There isn’t a wait staff, only counter help. What I would presume to be the owner, and an assistant were behind the counter of this Green Cactus wannabe on a Saturday afternoon, and we were greeted not with a hello and welcome, but a scowl. Nice opener. Here, imitation is *not* the sincerest form of flattery. We almost decided to leave then, and would have been happier if we had. The fountain machine, where we could have ordered less expensive drinks, was out of order, so we had to choose from the cooler. Salsa and chips that were brought as a starter were only fair. I ordered the chicken taquitos, which were so bland it was as if there were no seasoning at all in them. If I had wanted food like this, I could have picked up frozen taquitos at Trader Joe’s and made them myself… saved myself some money, and been happier with the taste. My partner ordered a burrito and offered me a bite; I made a face indicating nothing great, and his comment, was, «yes, exactly.» The salsa bar, while similar in layout to those of Taco Joe’s or Green Cactus, wasn’t similar in flavor. The salsas were watery and disappointing. It’s sad, because good Mexican food is not something Long Island or even NYC has cornered the market on, so there are plenty of opportunities for places serving outstanding Mexican food to capitalize. Unfortunately, this place isn’t one of them. And the promise of service-with-a-scowl puts the nail in the coffin on this one for us. The owner has no business in the hospitality business. My recommendation is that you: 1) eat next door at Five Guys; or 2) drive on past to Green Cactus or Taco Joe’s(or even Trader Joe’s) and, for about the same price or less, you’ll have a tastier meal with friendlier cashiers. Or, 3) if you have a few more $ to spend, drive a little further up the Turnpike to Escorza’s, just east of the Wantagh Parkway, where real Mexican is served, and served well. Taco Perfectos? Hardly.

I’m not trying to be rude or anything but this was probably the blandest Mexican food I’ve ever had.

Food is so good. They deliver and I don’t have any problems with the service… Have a homemade taste as well!

Pathetic. I have no idea what the food is like, and I never will, since they decided not to deliver my order. I waited around for 2 ½ hours, and when I phoned the restaurant was closed. They never even let me know that the order was cancelled, delayed or anything else. Awful customer service.

Food was not authentic nor has any any flavor, straight out of a can. The owner is in the wrong business not personable at all does not no how to speak with paying customers. They did not accept a certificate and have no idea how to access online order. Food sucks.

I just went today for the first time. I heard so many good reviews, I had to try it. The food was outstanding, I was greeted warmly by the woman at the counter and she gave me time to look at the menu. The food came out in a timely fashion considering it is made fresh, to order. I really enjoyed my meal and will definitely come back again. I also like that they deliver.

Awful. Took 2 hours for delivery and lied to me on the phone twice about where the food was.

Taco Perfectos is an oasis in sea of lousy Mexican options. If you have high standards for your Mexican food, this your place! Taco Perfectos is a good 12 miles away from me and I’ve made several trips since I firmly believe that this is the best Mexican available on Long Island/Queens and possibly all of the NYC metro area. That’s a bold statement, but I am someone who has spent a lot of time in Southern California(particularly San Diego) and I know good Mexican. I also know bad Mexican and New York has plenty of it. Let’s face it, good Mexican is nearly impossible to find in New York. You might be able to get semi-decent Tex Mex in some high-end Mexican restaurant, but you and I know that’s not real Mexican. Sure, you can head to Jackson Heights and get a damn good taco off a truck at 1 a.m., but that’s not for everyone. I have always wanted a solid taqueria in New York, just a place where you can eat in or take out from… and be sure to get great Mexican. We never really had that option, and no, Chipotle and those Chinese take-out joints calling themselves«Mexican» don’t count. What impressed me the most about this place is that they are the only Mexican place I have found outside of California that offers the wonderful California burrito(they call it the Burrito California)! That’s a San Diego creation where the burrito has fries inside in place of rice. It’s not quite as perfect as you’d find in San Diego, but it’s pretty damn perfect for New York. They inexplicably add corn to the burrito, but just ask for no corn. They should also be using straight, sphere fries instead of the cringle one they use… I hope it’s something they can correct. But nevertheless, this is what you should order on your first visit… and your second, and your third. I also have to mention their incredible fish taco. Again, it’s hard to find a good one in this area but you’ll get a perfect one here. The fish is crispy and fresh and there’s plenty of it, not buried in a sea of cabbage. It’s honestly one of the best fish tacos I’ve had on any coast. That’s high praise. I have seen some negative reviews on here and I’m frankly baffled by them. These are clearly Long Islanders who have no idea what real Mexican should taste like… they should stick to Taco Bell. But look at the numerous reviews from people who have lived in Southern California and they praise it just like I have! To me, that says it all. Ignore the ignorant reviews, I’m steering you straight. The location is tucked away next to a Five Guys, but I hope people discover this place. The owner is also a very friendly guy and is always hospitable when I’m in there. On several visits so far, Tacos Perfectos has yet to disappoint me. It’s worth making a special trip for.

This little hidden gem serves up some tasty tacos! I’ve been looking for a restaurant in the area that serves tacos for a long time and was happy to come across Tacos Perfectos. My favorite is the Taco Gamba, a taco with soft corn tortillas and shrimp seasoned with garlic, onion, and cilantro, served with a wedge of lime. So simple yet so flavorful. I have also had the steak quesadilla, which was also quite tasty, served with sour cream, guacamole, and fresh pico de gallo. Their menu has a lot of options, such as tacos, quesadillas, empanadas, burritos, enchiladas — the list goes on and on! I’ll definitely be coming back to try them all!

I have been passing this place for the longest time now and decided hey, hopefully it’s not like a taco bell right? So parking lot is nuts considering most of the traffic is for dunkin doughnuts and gappys barber shop so be prepared to walk, which i don’t mind. The one turn off of this place, NO air conditioning! I mean really? Almost 90 something degrees outside and even worse inside! So I decided to order the burrito gamba, which comes with their tortilla chips. Near the register they have a little variety of salsas depending on how hot you like it. I like the mild one as it has a clean taste to it. Waiting for the food felt like walking across the Arizona desert. Wowie! I know how a lobster being boiled feels like! It took about 15 minutes as mostly everything is cooked to order. When I finally got to the car to enjoy the air conditioning AND the food OMG. The burrito is as large as my forearm! Fresh shrimp, avacado, tomato. Muy delicioso! LoL. As for the tortilla chips they tasted stale, so I would skip them the next time. Not worth it! I will be back for a follow up as the food is good, but dining inside is NOT an option right now!

I really wanted to like this place, but I have no intention of returning. The chips tasted like they were cooked in oil that needs changing, and my tacos were bland with dry meat and soggy tortillas. There was also a lot of nothing in the taco. I pretty much paid for a disappointing meal. Look at my other reviews for some taco recommendations.

I got the Burrito Loco which was stuffed! Fresh ingredients. Came with chips that weren’t stale but were freshly made. Prices are similar to Moes and Chipotle. Clean location.

I have been here 4 times, each time the food was delicious. They have generous sized portions. The owner is a very friendly man, he makes a point to come say hello each time we are in. It is nice that he remembers his customers. We love the chips and fresh salsa(they have 4 types out to help yourself). I do think they need better counter help, the girl today was sweet but didn’t know how to ring up my chicken fajita and I was not able to make it into a meal because she didn’t know how. I’m assuming she was new. I will definitely go back.

My dreams have came true: a Mexican place that delivers. Taco Perfectos is now one of my favorite places in the area. I’ve had this at least 4 – 5 times in the last month and it is my go-to place now for a bite to eat. The food here tastes fresh, flavorful and well made. The menu is extensive and they have everything from the basics(tacos, quesadillas, burritos) to the basics with a unique twist. This is a place where you place your order at the counter, take a seat and they bring you over your food when it’s ready. The food: price ratio is great. The plates aren’t too expensive but you do get what you pay for — maybe even more. In addition, chips and salsa are always free whether you eat in or order out — and theyre delicious, too! Although the menu is stacked with options, you are able to substitute and add any ingredient you wish. Everything here is made to order. One of my deciding factors on a [new] mexican place is the quality of their guac. So far, I’ve had the quac on a burrito, tacos, and on the side with chips — they pass! I know I may be just an above average guac connoisseur but from what I can tell, their guacamole is homemade and fresh. A+! Now back to the fact that this place delivers. The delivery is always quick, efficient and packed nicely. They take their time when placing your order to ensure they have it right. Taco Perfectos seem to really care about their product and customers and it shows.

We ate in. They brought our guacamole out in about 10 minutes. We waited another 10 – 15 minutes for our food. Everything was absolutely delicious. Definitely order and then pick up because the food is made to order.
