Target Optical

Stay away, optometrist is not good.

I’ve been meaning to write this review for two years, but I had never been a Unilocal reviewer — only a Unilocal reader — until recently.
This review is for Dr. Lelonek, who I actually visited in his Costco location. I recently received an email spam from him, notifying me that his new location was at this Target. EVERYTHING about my experience with Dr. Lelonek and his receptionist was a nightmare. I had been to Costco/​Target eye doctors previously — mostly for the convenience and the price. I have always had mediocre or above average experiences, until I walked into Dr. Lelonek’s office.
The receptionist? Awful. I have NEVER experienced such sass.
Next, I walked into his eye exam room, which was small and musty and with equipment that looked like it was 20 years old. It would not have been a problem if he actually was efficient and could perform a decent eye exam, but he fumbled over objects and at the end of the day did not even give me the right prescription or sizing for my contacts! He had convinced me that I had been wearing the wrong prescription and size for years. Turns out, he was wrong and I ended up having to find another eye doctor for the correct prescription, and pay for another exam.
Also, I had been wearing my very last pair of contacts for the previous two or three weeks — and fine, he scolded me. It is bad for my eyes which I get. But then, he and his receptionist BULLIED me into throwing them out, ensuring that they would give me a new pair to go home in. I sincerely did not want to throw my old contacts out, but I get anxious and felt pressured to do as they said, and they were persistent. I threw them out, and ten minutes after sitting with no vision as I am almost legally blind, they tell me that they cannot find the right contacts for me, and sent me home with the wrong contacts that I couldn’t wear for long periods of time. IN ADDITION to the fact that he gave me a terrible prescription that ended up not working out for me.

Like this location. Been coming here for years and made a big mistake and didn’t come for my last annual. The prescription I was given from the other optical was off.
Came back to my original location and it’s looking good.
Staff is very pleasant here. Makes you feel comfortable to come again and refer friends with confidence.
