My family loves Zio Gio! The food is excellent, and the staff is courteous and friendly. My favorite item is the large American Cheesesteak hoagie with fries, and my wife and son enjoy the pasta bowls.(I could make a meal with those fries!) We usually save any leftovers for later, so it’s very economical to us! Plus, you can get a free water ice! You can’t beat that! We strongly encourage you to try this place! You’ll love it!

The food is soooo good. Everyone in my family was happy with their meal. We had the sliders which were fabulous! Definitely try the craft soda and the slushies are very flavorful and sweet. Cheesesteak and meatball subs were delicious. We will come back! The cashiers and workers were very friendly also. :)

Today was my first Zio Gio experience. I am not at all pleased. My boss and I ordered Albert’s Roasted Chicken Robusto from the«Zio’s Specials» portion of the menu. What we thought we were going to unwrap was roasted chicken goodness. Instead, we received what looked like pulled pork and a load of moss(which should have been sautéed spinach). To top off my already awesome-looking sandwich? One sliver of a roasted red pepper. Right on! I wish I took a picture to show others what Z.G. is trying to pass off as appetizing. The optimist within me is hoping that this is the result of some pissed of worker and not their norm. Otherwise, it might be awhile until I decide to chance lunch with Z.G. again. The extra star is for the $ 5.99 price and that I had the wherewithal not to order the bigger portion to save for later. Still, I can’t justify anyone paying $ 5.99 for something that I just described.

If you can call this place fast food, then it is the fast food joint you wish all other places were. It has an awesome selection of South Philly favorites. Sandwiches like pork and broccoli rabe, meatballs, chicken parm, and cheesesteaks. Seasoned fries, connolis, Italian ice, etc. I just wish this place was closer to my house and/or job. The lunch I ordered was great and comprised of quality ingredients. I ordered the 6″ Steve’s roast pork sandwich(roasted pork, provolone, and broccoli rabe on a grilled roll). It was as good as one I’d get at Reading Terminal Market. The French fries tasted fresh and were deliciously seasoned with basil and salt. I’m posting some pictures which should illustrate the quality — it tasted even better than it looks. The place seems very new. The presentation of everything was great; there were even some food samples under glass. The place is clean and done well.(A real contrast to some of the surrounding businesses.) I hope it lasts and they expand. I was very impressed and want to return.

Super Yummy! I just went in for take out for the office. It was all of our first times eating there, but I will only speak for myself. I got the mixed veggie in a gluten free zanini with sharp prov & broccoli raab and it was SOGOOD! I wish I bought two. They are 6 inches as stated which is a healthy portion but man do I want more! They also let me sample a meatball while I was in there. It was delicious. I can’t wait to go back!

I visited the Bristol, PA location for lunch. I had no clue what to expect. It took me a little while to figure this place out. The menu boards are placed really high and you have to crane your neck to see them. The menu was filled with terms that I was not familiar with like Zanini and I didn’t see an explanation. I’m still not sure what it is. I think it’s a cross between a wrap and a panini? I ordered Steve’s Pork Sandwich or something to that affect. It was roasted pork, provolone, and broccoli rabe on a 6″ roll. It also comes in the 12″ variety. The sandwich was really delicious. Not dry like it can be at times. The service was absolutely on point. From the order takers, to the bus persons. There was always someone asking how everything was or if you needed your table cleared of anything. But not in any negative, hovering, or clingy type way. Just helpful. The décor is very clean, fresh, and modern. However, the noise from the kitchen made things less relaxing than they otherwise could’ve been. The restaurant is all hard, reflective surfaces and the noise tends to echo around. For my tastes, the fries, while delicious, were overly seasoned. It would be nice if they gave you the option to season them yourself for those that might have any dietary salt restrictions or who are just trying to eat healthier. But they came in this cute little metal fryer basket lined with brown paper. Bonus points for great presentation!

Great food, love the pasta. Love the fries. It’s fairly cheap. It’s not really a place I crave to eat at though, but it’s not too shabby every now and then.

Fries were good. My chicken parm however was subpar. For a 9 dollar meal I expect more. I’d rather go next door to Georgine Jrs.

DELICIOUS!!! We had the pulled pork with broccoli rabe sandwich! It reminded me of a south philly sandwich and It was delicious. The salad with chicken was also exceptional. Everything was seasoned perfectly and made with quality ingredients. This is me and my boyfriends new favorite lunch spot.

I’ve been here multiple times, but this is the first time I was blown away by this establishment. I got a cheesesteak and fries, as well as a free cotton candy water ice. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the service was stellar as well! All the food was hot, the cotton candy water ice was sweet and refreshing, I was overall very impressed!

I first off like to say that I was very shocked to find out that this is a fast food place, if you ask me this is not look like a fast food joint, is more than just that, And hope they build more in the PA area. When I walked in, I was greeted by a few people that work here, and was very pleasant and nice. It was like they enjoyed what they did, Looked at everything on the menu. Being the first time took me few min to choose what to get. I wound up with the Roasted chicken sandwich with roasted peppers and mild provolone cheese, and sautéed spinach parsley Garnish on it. With seasoned French fries and soda. Free refills on the drinks go get it yourself. Or sometimes the staff will come around and ask if you like a refill they are nicely enough to get it for you. I did like the fact that they do have all these condiments to choose from. like hot sauce, pickles, red peppers, hot peppers, sweet peppers, salt, pepper, And little size cups to put your sides in with lids if you’re eating there or taking it to go, napkins, soda machine, etc. I salute this place on how they treat their customers and how nice they are to them. They even bring around samples of the food to try. They brought around meatballs and spicy meatballs, There really is not much more to say about this place, just have to give it a try. Won’t be disappointed!

Had the italian meatball meal w fries and a drink $ 9.59 Fries good, meatballs tasted frozen. Staff was attentive. I saw about 15 staff in this small place. Not sure why so many people. My impression of this place is they took the local pizza/sandwich shop and are trying to franchise it. I was expecting fresh italian food like an italian chipotle. I will not be back.

My dad and I tried this place for the first time tonight. I was a bit skeptical at first b/c there was absolutely no one in the restaurant, but we decided to try it anyway. We we pleasantly surprised. The prices were reasonable, the employees were friendly and helpful. The food was pretty good, I had the Zio Gio cheesesteak, but I would say the best part was the fries, the seasoning was delicious. I’m not sure if i would agree that this is Italian street food, but it was good regardless. We also got a free sample of gelato. I say if you’re in the area and you are looking for something a little different, fast and reasonably priced this would be a good place to try. I know that I’ll be back. :-)

When I first saw this place I thought ‘what in the world is a Zio Gio?’. Though I’d never seen one I was surprised to learn they are not a chain, since both their interior and exterior are quite polished and corporate looking. However, I think they’ve really hit on something unique and in the ever growing market of fast casual dining establishments I think there are surely more Zio Gios to follow. That being said they say this is supposed to imitate Italian street food; I disagree. This place imitates Philly street food which is its own beast. It doesn’t do a bad job either. I can’t complain about their food. Their Zio Gio Cheesesteak(which has green peppers and American cheese) is not too shabby for a fast food joint. Is it something I’d go out of my way for? No, and honestly there are a ton of authentic cheesesteak places nearby that are better. But, and this is a big but, you can order cheesesteaks by drive through here, which is quite novel. I quite liked their fries, which are only a little slimmer than a typical steak cut, and are also pleasantly flavored. By chance I happened to be there when they were giving out free gelato samples. Boy, was I ever grateful for that! Their water ice is on par with a typical Philly water ice, a consistency somewhere between a slushie and a harder Italian ice, and the cherry flavor was cloying but tasty at least. Their gelato ice cream itself was also good, very creamy and thick. Is it as good as other water ice places around? Not necessarily, but once again, for a fast food place it was better than average. I was pleased with my meal. Prices here aren’t too outrageous, but it does trend a bit pricier than other fast food in the area. However, since this appears to be a local phenomenon I’m willing to support it. I’d say this place is worth a try, since nothing I had here was bad.

I’ve been here 4 times. This place is great. The roast pork(#4) with broccoli rabe is incredible. Also very good are the Chicken robusto, Chicken parm and the french fries with Zio Gio’s cheese. I can’t wait to try more of the menu. In addition to the food, the staff is great too, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

First I will say Zio Gio exceeded my expectations. It is after all a fast food restaurant. We had the Chicken Robusto & Zio Gio cheesesteak. Both sandwiches were loaded with fresh tasting ingredients. The fries were really yummy & had great seasoning. Everything was hot & as ordered. The employee who took our order was really patient with us because we had no idea what to order. They were busy & we appreciate how she handled our indecisiveness & she was able to make recommendations. We actually chatted up the owner.(No, he wasn’t that kind of annoying manager type that comes by the table to ask how your meal was & really doesn’t care…). He was excited to talk about all the decisions & hard work that went into the concept. It was cool hear about all the details that went into the project. All the way from architect plans down to the consistency of the cheese sauce. Although it may seem like a chain restaurant this is indeed their first store. They also bake their bread on site & who isn’t a sucker for some good bread! I can’t wait to taste more on my next visit.

I work around the corner from this establishment and decided to try it for this first time today after seeing that they have grand opened a few weeks ago. A little more expensive than yours average fast food joint around the area but worth every dime. When you walk in you are pleasantly greeted by their staff and their clean, modern décor. Must try their chicken cheesesteak which is different than your usual South Philly Pats & Genos. Keep up the good work!

First time there, food is excellent! I had the pulled pork with broccoli rabe #4, my fiancé had the #7 Veggie Zinini and she said it reminded her of grilled veggies from summer so I guess that’s good. Fries also bangin

We have been eagerly anticipating the opening of this place at work, since there is not a ton of fast options(McDonalds, BK, etc.) and we weren’t disappointed. First — the fries — I could have eaten a whole pound. They were coated in pepper and sooo good. The pasta bowl we got with Alfredo and Breaded chicken — which was also very good — a little small(I was full — but I could see other people not — it was also only $ 6) and it also came with garlic bread. The other people in my party got roast pork, canolli dip, gelato(definition — water ice) and everyone was happy. Downsides — Stuff was a little salty(mostly the sandwich meats), The garlic aoili was more like mayo than anything else, drive thru was a little long(it was the first day) We will be back.
