Duck Canoe Canoe and Kayak Rental

Awesome day on river, very friendly and efficient service despite fact that we went here on holiday weekend. Staff was helpful and kind. Seemed like reasonable prices for rental though I have not comparison-​shopped.

The perfect day trip. Definitely recommend Duck Canoe. Everyone from the owner to the team that drops off and picks up at the river were genuinely friendly and helpful. Canoes and equipment were in great shape. They easily trump their competition. And when you get finished with the river trip don’t miss the BBQ. Experience was easily 5 Stars.

If canoeing and/​or kayaking the Duck River is not on your bucket list, it should be! We took our family of 5, another family of 4, and a young couple on a gloriously beautiful Saturday in early October, and I can’t wait to go back when the leaves change a bit more. Apparently the Duck River is one of the most biologically diverse rivers in the world, second only to the Nile. My son even spotted a baby otter!
Matt and David were super accommodating. Make sure you check out their gorgeous handmade artisan furniture before you embark on your trip.

Heard about Duck Canoe while camping at a nearby campground in Lewisberg. David (he works there) stopped by our campsite and talked for a bit, and asked us what we had planned for the weekend. after telling him we were looking at renting kayaks from someone nearby, he explained that Duck Canoe would be the most accommodating and helpful to us. we reserved 6 kayaks on the spot that night and he said he would have them by by 10AM the next morning. 10AM rolls around and there they are! They even unloaded them and got everything set up at the «put in» spot. we had a small child (6 y/​o) who was just going to ride with one of the adults, and they even offered to set up a small kayak that we could tow behind, which we gladly accepted. For a minimal rental cost, they provided everything we needed, and even picked us up from the end point about 9 miles down river! we had two others who had their own kayaks and they shuttled them as well for a small fee. At the end of our trip, David let us know that they are getting in 30 new kayaks, so the next time we come out we can request some of their new crafts to try out.

Great time kayaking today. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Awesome alternative to the sometimes crowded Harpeth and better scenery too. This place has recently changed hands and locations. So, make sure you have the right address when you call ahead for reservations.
