This Ammex Duty Free is always ready to do business. You can readily exchange currency (U.S. and Canadian — not sure about others). As well, smokes, alcoholic beverages and perfumes and such can be bought here for entry into Canada.
Hit the Tim Horton’s before you cross — they have hot and cold refreshments, snacks (sandwiches and muffins/​doughnuts), and they have clean rest rooms. Like most (maybe all) Timmy’s, this one is open all the time, like 24⁄7.
Of course, as long as the border is open, the Duty Free is open too. ;-).

It was fun shopping here before crossing the border back to the states! I got a couple of ice wines (yum!) with some riesling in it. The guy let us sample 3 different flavors. We also got some maple whiskey (also available to sample) and some rum, just because it was cheaper there than at our local wine shop in NYC.

This store offers your typical duty-​free items at standard prices.
Otherwise they also have a quick service counter if you are looking for a lite bite to eat and a coffee or pop. Every time I’ve been in the ladies’ washroom has been clean.
