This is the BEST fried fish I think I’ve ever had — utterly delicious. The rice was cooked to pure perfection! Light, airy… the sauces were to die for. I can’t say enough good things — the ambiance was nice, the owner just lovely… GO! Support this lovely eatery.

I was looking for Spanish food and this popped up. Although Spanish food is less spicy this is definitely worth it. I got stewed beef with rice and beans and fried sweet plantains. Absolutely delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked(not mushy and not crisp) and the stewed beef flavor went so well with it. Sweet plantains are my weakness and caribe definitely knows what they’re doing when cooking them, along with everything else. I would recommend this to EVERYONE! Especially those looking for something different in the area as we don’t usually get food places like these. Thank you to the Caribe family for hooking me up tonight.

We just happened to see Caribe driving by and stopped later for lunch. This falls in the«hidden gem» category of restaurants. The food is a selection of various Caribbean dishes, it’s very affordable and you get a lot of different items on a single entrée. A lunch plate has the entrée main item you ordered, plus a large side of rice with either beans or vegetables, potato salad w/beets(good!), micro greens salad, mac and cheese, and fried plantains. But the real win here is the flavors. Wow! You have to have the Haitian pumpkin soup; it’s extraordinary. The goat curry was fragrant and tender, and the rice side dishes were perfectly cooked w/a wonderful spicing I couldn’t identify. The staff is welcoming and enjoys discussing the origin of the various menu items. And they do takeout. If you like interesting full flavored food of an authentic nature that is not well represented in Maine, this is the place for you. We need to help this restaurant make it.

Went to this place on a whim after finding them on this website and their menu and hours on menu’s L/A. The staff was very very nice, the service was quick and well done. The dinning room was comfortable and inviting with some very fun island art on the walls. This place has only been open a couple of months and they are working hard to be the best they can! Oh and most importantly, they are succeeding at it! This is the most authentic Caribbean food you can get in Maine. The goat is wonderful, fried and stewed! I also loved their Haitian milk shakes, get a large and debate if you’ll have a second one for dessert.
