The old saying, «You can Never go back!» certainly applies to my visit to Gus’s! It had been almost 30 years since my last visit and things have changed over the years. The service was prompt, friendly, and very welcoming. The price of the pizza was very affordable/cheap! Now to the pizza… My first clue that this was not to be the pizza of fond memories past should have been the missing big old pizza oven which use to be in the shop. The conveyor belt oven, which is popular in some larger chaisn was pumping out the pizzas. The crust was very thick and puffy, similar to one from P-Hut, but not quite meeting the cheese/sauce to crust ratio! So three stars for the value, friendly service and speed, but 2 for the pizza. I’m pleased they have been around for so many years and wish them many more.

A great Mifflin County Classic. Gus’s Pizza is always there when you need a cheap and fast dinner. The time pickup is always about 10 minutes. Best local pizza around, hands down!

If what you seek is GOOD pizza, then this is the place. Every time we visit my folks in the area, we HAVE to stop and get some pizza. The place is a hole in the wall. It’s always been that way, but look beyond that it you will find great pizza. There is no sit down in this place. Just a place to pickup and pay. Try it out. You’ll love it.

Its a Mifflin County legacy; I grew up on Guss’s. I still love it. But, it either has to be super hot or super cold for me to eat it. One downfall — they still don’t take cards. Upsides — it’s only always about a 15 minute wait, the staff is pretty much always friendly and they have a cooler of soda, in case you need to grab a two liter.

I just moved to Lewistown and my neighbors were having a party, and some them pitched in to help move some of the heavy stuff that they saw me struggle with. They invited me to join their party and I said I didn’t have anything to bring. They told me to go down the street to Gus’s Pizza and pick up some pizza they ordered for them & that would be good enough. Gus’s was busy when I got there and the people there smiled and were friendly. I picked up the pizza & went back to the party. The pizza was AWESOME, hot flavor full crestfallen of toppings and stringy cheese. They were making subs and they looked great also. The place was really busy so that should have been my first clue!

This is a local pizza joint. You have them in every small town. Cheap pizza made New York style with a semi sweet sauce. Decent local joint but nothing special.

Cheapest pizza in the area. Cardboard crust, sauce that tastes like the can, cheese that cracks instead of stretches.
